I think the biggest problem was that all the black coaching candidates filled out their resumes in fake haiku.

Imagine if kaepernick was white and alex smith was black, all the media, would call harbaugh a racist, but since its the other way around, nobody cares about it and harbaugh is a genius.

That has actually happened. Where a black QB was benched for a white one.

Vick was benched and most folks said "Finally." No one called Reid a racist.

Probably for the same reason nobody complains about the lack of black punters or field goal kickers.

thats different, because Alex Smith had the numbers to be a starter, and nobody would complain if Smith was the 49ers starting QB now, if Alex Smith didnt get hurt, he wouldnt have been benched, unlike Vick.

The career path to an NFL coaching job is longer than any other and most coaches nowadays have to start training for it at the same age most athletes start playing pro ball. High schools pay their coaches more than any other employees in the district; so they have to have a graduate degree and be able to either run an administrative department or also teach full time. Statistically speaking the majority of black student athletes (and black college students) aren't graduating, so no big surprise they're not being considered for managerial jobs ten or fifteen years later.

This may be the dumbest idea I have ever heard. You want to give teams competitive or financial advantages for hiring black coaches? Never mind the fact that almost no other race is represented in the NFL other than black and white, and nobody seems to care about anything but the number of black coaches. Should we also give competitive and financial advantages to teams who start white rbs, cbs, or wr's? That is the right thing to do under your scenario of doing it for black coaches right? Should we just give a team a pass all the way to the Superbowl for hiring an Asian, Latino, or Native American since they are almost non existent in the NFL? There are what 3 of 32 black head coaches right now and they represent 13.6% of the population as a whole, so about right on par considering most years there are well above 13.6% of the head coaches in the NFL who are black.

If people act like African-Americans should be equal (which they oviously should), they why pull the race card? It makes it seem like African-American are anything but equal.

You're insinuating racism or discrimination; I'm using reasonably well known facts about the coaching career track and black academic failure to explain why a competitive management job with only 32 slots isn't staffed with more people from a statistically under-qualified social group. By the way, the next time you make a thinly veiled, six-year-old slam about my black identity as compared to yours, try to write like a literate ****ing adult, otherwise it kind of undercuts your point.

Affirmative Action people. We need to address skin color in our hiring, to show that we are not racist. Seriously I want AA to be removed since that is racism in itself.
