The Rockets don’t have power forwards. They have soft forwards.

    This^^^^

This explains Hardens problems of late also. Teams have decided Harden is too dangerous to guard 1 on 1, so they are sagging in the 3 or 4 to help. They are thinking, lets make Houston's 3 or 4's beat us. And guess what? They cant. So now everyone is keying on our guards knowing Morris, Pat and Co. wont score or rebound enough to warrant covering them tightly.

The spread 4 is fine if and only he commands enough respect to make teams cover him. If not, he is not just a liability on offense and allows the opposing defense to clog the paint making him a deficit on both ends of the floor.

We should start Delfino today to try and get going in the first. Minnesota is without Love and Pekovic anyways. Our PF's haven't defended or rebounded and at least they gotta stay on Carlos. Bring PPat in for Delfino and let Morris sit for a few games to get him calmed down. Morris has lost it and needs to regroup.

Morris should not be playing another rotation minute. He's that bad. How many times does this guy want to travel? How do you do that every game when you're playing in the NBA?

Okay. All of these guys need to be traded.

    Marcus Morris
    Patrick Patterson
    Donatas Montiejunas
    Royce White

I can't stand the sight of Terrence Jones either, but he's the best we have at the moment. If someone's going to grab 2-4 rebounds from the PF position, let it be him until an answer is found.

It's the Moneyball thing. In theory, 33% of 3 pointers = 50% of 2 pointers right?

That's why they attempt to turn everyone into a 3 point shooter.

Well what works in theory doesn't always work in reality.

It's most interesting that McHale was such a great PF himself but he seems most clueless in his using of his PFs. Did he think he would become a HOFer if Auerbach asked to go practice 3 and space the floor the Larry Bird?

It's time to get pissed at the 4's...we know they can't make shots, but they at least should either block out or go for every rebound...or we sit them until one of them get's it.

I don't get why the team keep pretending a stretch 4 is on the roster. They need to counter the zone on Harden and the deep sagging off Lin and the 4s with some ball movement, screens (especially involving defenders sagging into the lane), and post action.

At the very least, bring in some guys who will at least be active bodies.

Agreed, we need guys who are going to cut, screen, rebound and get active...instead of standing around sucking their thumbs. And I'm referring to our 4's (and the Coaches).

I think the answer to our problems would be a...SMOOVE operator.

The problem is the offensive system we have been trying to prove in which the C is actually C+PF and the traditional PF becomes a 3p specialist. Otherwise I can't explain why our real PFs (Jones, Tmo) are in the D league practicing 3's.

The Rockets need someone who the ball goes through the post. Someone with height who can face up and shoot a contested jumper and still make it. Somebody who can back down the defender, make a move to the basket and score. Someone who draws double teams and kicks it out to an open three point shooter. They need that plug in the middle or else their offense is nothing but try to drive or settle for the jumper. It's easy to defend that by playing tight and collapsing in the paint.
