A series of events that i thought of in my fantasy world that would make me over-happy...

    Trade 1:
    http://espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=aeqo58c

Machado to Chicago for Rip/lottery protected 1st...

Houston does it for the pick and likely buyout rip or choose to keep him around for vet leadership...

Chicago does it to dodge luxury tax and gain a cheap player...

    Trade 2:
    http://espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=att5kbr

TD/PatPat to Cleveland for Walton/lottery protected 1st from Lakers...

Houston does it for pick and Waltons expiring...

Cleveland does it because they have thre 1st's and LAs will likely be the worst of the bunch, and instead of using the late pick on the potential of landing a solid roleplayer, they get one in patpat... also gain TDs expiring...

    Trade 3:
    http://espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=b9vzjsf

    The Blockbuster Trade...

    Houston sends TJones/DMo/GregSmith/Parsons/Cook/Lakers 1st/Chicagos 1st/Both knicks 2nd rd picks/Clippers 2nd to Sacremento for DMC/Salmons/Isiah...

Houston does it for the second potential franchise player and 2nd potential super/all-star...

Sacremento does it because it could possibly be best deal available... they get two 1sts, 3 2nds, 2 young high upside prospects in tjones and dmo... the great great value of parsons and the value of gregsmith and his potential... they recieve cooks expiring and get rid of salmons contract...

    2013 Free Agency
    Walton expires
    Aldrich expires
Trade Rip for buyout or cut him
    Sign Andre Iggoudala
    Pick-up Delfinos option
sign Ronny Turiaf to vet minimum

    Rockets 2014 Line-up
    Lin/Isiah
    Harden/Delfino
    Iggy/Delfino/Salmons
    DMC/Morris/Turiaf
    Asik/DMC/Turiaf

    D-League
    Beverly
    Anderson
    Royce

    My Trade Proposal

Rockets receives Ryan Anderson and Robin Lopez

Hornets receives Omer Asik, Patrick Patterson, Terrence Jones

The Rockets do it because Ryan Anderson is the perfect power forward for the team style of play, his 3 point shooting creates the space needed at that position. Robin Lopez is a quicker, better pick and roll center, and better shot blocker.

The Hornets do it because Omer Asik is an upgrade over Robin Lopez. Both him and Patrick Patterson upgrades the defense and they get a young prospect in Terrence Jones and ex-teamate of Anthony Davis.

hornets not paying ASIK 15 mill in 3rd year of his contract. You guys need to think about him and lins contracts before jumping the gun on these trade proposals

There's now way I'm trading Asik for Anderson straight up, let alone with other players involved. I only support trading Asik if we're getting a top level player in return, that damn sure isn't Ryan Anderson.

If Chicago Bulls waive Nate Robinson Tuesday do we interested to sign him as a backup PG/SG? It's about 1M/year, pretty nice price for Robinson who can be solid bench player :) Then trade Douglas, PPat and other PF for someone?

SMH to folks wanting to deal Asik. No Ego, willingness to learn only gonna get better, Mr. double-double, already better than many 5's in the league, quiet dominator. I say focus on the 4 or let a young buck bloom, get the back up folks we need, etc. Unless it is an elite legit 5, (even then not sure how I feel) keep him in Rocket red.

    Incorrect.

The cap hit would only be $15m for the Bulls if they matched, not for anyone else.

Cap hit next 2 seasons (Asik and Lin) will be $8.3m and $8.3m. So they will count as $16.6m on the books, but will actually get paid $20m each. A very very very tight owner might not want to pay them more than their cap hit, but in almost every case this is highly unlikely.

Harden, Asik, Parsons, and Lin are more than likely players the Rockets wouldn't consider trading.

Once you take a look at the rest of the roaster, what could we actually get for those guys...??? Do we actually have enough to trade for Josh Smith, Milsap, Jefferson, Cousins, and other big name players...

Unless a team is desperate to dump one of those players, I don't think so. Plus the Rockets draft pic won't be that attractive considering they may make the playoffs.

It's going to be interesting to see what kind of moves Morey will make..

My projected moves over the next seven months:

    1. TRADE: Richard Hamilton and the Bulls' 2013 first round pick (lottery protected) to Houston; Scott Machado to Chicago. This move allows Chicago to avoid the 2012-13 luxury tax.

    2. TRADE: Patrick Patterson to Cleveland; Cleveland's 2013 second round pick to Houston.

    3. Houston signs Patrick Beverly.

    4. Houston declines 2013-14 team option on Carlos Delfino.

    5. Houston lets Toney Douglas and Cole Aldrich walk.

    6. Houston buys out Richard Hamilton's 2013-14 contract ($1 mil, I believe).

    7. Houston adds two players in the draft (via Chicago's first round pick, projected to be around #20 overall, and via Cleveland's second round pick, projected to be around #32 overall).

    8. Houston signs Paul Millsap to a four year contract; salary much higher in Year One (2013-14) than in any subsequent year, since Houston will have so much 2013 cap space to play around with.

    9. Houston fills out 15-man roster with a mystery player (either Jon Diebler or an undrafted rookie free agent).

    Projected 2013-14 roster

    Starting lineup

    PG Jeremy Lin
    SG James Harden
    SF Chandler Parsons
PF Paul Millsap (replaces Marcus Morris)
    C Omer Asik

    Key reserves

    Marcus Morris (replaces Carlos Delfino)
    Patrick Beverly (replaces Toney Douglas)
    Greg Smith
    Terrence Jones (replaces Patrick Patterson)

    End of the bench/developmental league

    Donatas Motiejunas
    Royce White
    James Anderson
Player drafted with Chicago's 2013 first round pick
Player drafted with Cleveland's 2013 second round pick
Mystery addition (Jon Diebler or undrafted rookie free agent)

    2. James Anderson
    SF 1. Chandler Parsons
    2. Carlos Delfino
    3. Terrence Jones

Royce White for another young PF with more size who will work hard and wants to play.
