Lin does have a lot of fangirls across a wide spectrum of ethnicities, nationalities and age. Just check out tumblr or any of his Asian fansites.

Besides the relatability and likability factors torocan wrote, Lin has a certain sex appeal that Yao doesn't have. You have to be a woman to understand this. LOL. His swagger and charisma on the court; the all dimple smiles off the court; the peppy look with an athlete's body (the Clark Kent combo); his sense of humor; the clean-cut, good choir-boy image (good for some corruption ;)).

The last Asian American male with sex appeal across racial lines? Bruce Lee. In American/Western pop culture, Asian men are almost never casted as romantic leads. Racial stereotypes have made Asian men as the least desirable group among men when it comes to sex appeal. That's why Lin is a cultural phenomenum to Asian Americans, especially Asian American men. He broke more stereotypes than just Asians can't ball.

Jeremy already has a Eurostep, he used it a lot last season in NY. I think he hasn't used it this season because of his knee injury, the Eurostep can put more pressure on your knees and requires a lot of explosiveness to do correctly.

I've also seen him hit some nice step back jumpers as well previously, just seems like in general he's looking for that midrange a lot less this season. Seems to be either layups or threes...wonder if it's a Rockets philosophy.

What?!! I thought PSY and his Gangnam style already changed all this stereotype about Asian men.

Psy hurt the AA cause as much as he helped it.

They had this sushi eating handshake for only one game then they changed it to the martial art pose which started at the Mavs game. I know they did this at the MSG game.

One of his solid eurosteps was in the Timberwolves game
    http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=GQo93nlacu4
    Around 2:25.
    2:50 is better
Also at 3:18? Can't tell on my phone.
I'm on my iPhone so can't embed. Sorry y'all.

Having looked at the highlights again, Lin doesn't seem to have fully recovered yet. Take a look that's what Lin should look like when his knees get better and he's comfortable on this team.

From those highlights, 2:50 is just the replay while 3:18 just looks like a change of direction/cross-over.

Here's a article from last season that mentioned him using the eurostep and also why he may not have used it often.
