Does Harden have the potential to be better than T-Mac in his prime?

    1. 07 wasn't Bron's 2nd year, what are you talking about.

    2. They also didn't reach playoffs in Bron's 2nd year if you somehow messed up the year.

    2. This thread is about T-Mac's prime, 07 is not regarded as that.

    3. I didn't say he was the 100% best at that time, you accurately pointed out that you mentioning Bron&Wade in their first year/2nd year is a massive fail.

Prime Ginobili had a much better understanding of championship basketball and if it wasn't for his injuries and annoying flopping, I'd take him over Harden anyday.

those are hardly Harden's accomplishments, those are Durants and Westbrooks accomplishments.

since when did playoff success for a team = talent/skill/leadership level of a 3rd option player?

Are you going to claim Lamar Odom is better than McGrady as well because of his rings and playoff success? Last time I checked with Shaq gone and before Gasol joined, the Kobe lead lakers either didn't make the playoffs or lost in the first round.

This is hilarious. Did you watch T-Mac? Do you watch Harden? You idiots think that "efficiency" is everything.

What is the average age of posters arguing in this thread, because you guys who can't remember how good TMAC was must have been in junior high or something. Harden is not even in the same league as a prime TMAC. TMAC versus Kobe was the debate at the time. he was that good. And as far as comparing him to duncan and garnett, that's really not a fair comparison, because you can't truly compare a BIG to a guard. Because they are fundamentally different. That's like comparing jordan to olajuwon.

TMAC in his prime could do things Kobe could not...not saying he was better, but you could argue both sides because he was that damn good. Even in his first year here when he slammed on shawn bradly, put up 13 in 35. He was a once in a decade type of player or more...not just with athletiscm but skill also. Who are these ppl saying he couldn't shoot? Perhaps his percentage wasn't as high as it could have been because he was forced to take low percentage shots at times...but then, who would you rather have shoot? Battier? alston? Howard?

I am guessing the posters here are in college or younger twenties here who are actually arguing against TMAC and comparing him to Harden? Harden is not even in that league....

McGrady had a two year run that hardly anyone in basketball has ever matched.

Harden will, barring injury, go down as a superior player, even if he doesn't have a single season that matches an 03 or 04 McGrady.

McGrady was maddening to watch. Harden is a joy to watch.

    Yeah who cares about "efficiency"?

Monta Ellis is obviously one of the best scorers in the game! Look at his PPG!

    cherry picking...
    both are or were great
Tmac was clearly more athletic, had the better tools.
Harden at Arizona would be nowhere near him, but with motor he could be doing the same things Tracy could and could not in a quiet way.

those guys are top defenders and overall leaders
Tmac was not a vocal leader... I guess ppl are talking about his offensive genius not his overall game

Potential to put up similar numbers, in the future, maybe.
In a 1-on-1 I don't think it's even close. At his peak, I think Tmac could go overtime with Kobe 1v1.

I am in shock, tinman.

Real Rockets fans only talk about players on the Rockets. Did LeBron, Durant, or Kobe ever play for the Rockets? ;)
