Lets see who can predict the future.... 1. Lakers 2. Portland 3. San Antonio 4. Suns 5. Utah 6. Minnesota 7. Houston 8. Dallas ------------------ Langhi has got to still be pissed that Vandy didn't get into the big dance.
1. Blazers 2. Spurs 3. Lakers 4. Suns 5. Sonics 6. Jazz 7. Kings 8. Rockets * * T-Wolves might edge out the Rockets for the #8 spot. It all depends on how well Garnett gets over Malik's death and Joe's departure. ------------------ My dream job is to be a Houston Rockets towel-boy. 1) Portland 2) Spurs 3) Faker$ 4) Suns 5) Sonics 6) Jazz 7) T-Wolves 8A) Rockets - with Dream healthy. Otherwise: 8B) Mavs 8C) Kings ------------------ GATER
Ditto on what Gater said, except we don't need Dream to be healthy to make it. In fact, count Dream out this year, and if he surprises, he surprises. But don't bank on Dream. I bet the Rockets brass aren't ------------------ Watch...the Wizard is gonna work magic this year!
Ahhhh, but the Rocket Brass is banking $16 million on Dream this season ------------------ In order to be a success in life, you need 2 things: 1. Don't tell everything you know.
You know what really makes a difference here? Joe Smith is the difference....If he is gone, than Rockets make it, but if he stays (very likely) then I'm doubtful...... ------------------
1. Lakers 2. SA 3. Portland 4. Utah 5. Phoenix 6. Sac 7. Sonics 8. T-wolves I think Utah will again defy their age and have a good regular season. Only 3 locks are LA, SA & Portland. Any olf the other 5 teams could fall out due to key injuries. ------------------
1. Portland 2. Spurs 3. Lakers 4. Suns 5. Jazz 6. Sonics 7. T-wolves 8. Rockets (optimistically) ------------------ "Oh No..." -Bill Walton in 97 just before Stockton's buzzer beater
BobFinn, You're right, the Rockets will pay Hakeem 16 millon this season. But there isn't one person who can say his performance THIS season will merit that kind of money. If the Rockets plan on making a play-off run, then they should figure Hakeem to have a limited reserve role and be prepared to let the young ones do their best. ------------------ Watch...the Wizard is gonna work magic this year!
1. Lakers (pacific) 2. Spurs (midwest) 3. Blazers 4. Suns 5. Jazz 6. Sonics 7. T'Wolves 8. Rockets ------------------ "There are three kinds of lies: Lies, Damned Lies, and STATISTICS..." - Mark Twain -
Lakers- Adding Grant, Rider is too much. Blazers- Pippen chokes again. Spurs- Duncan is the best player in the NBA. Rockets- Speed kills. Suns- Lack an interior presence. Sonics- Ewing will slow them down. Jazz- Stockton and Malone, the two dirtiest players in the league, don't get any sympathy from me. Kings- Jason Williams is the most overrated player in the league. When you add the following ingredients- 1. A happy Mo Taylor 2. A stronger, smarter, more confident Steve Francis 3. A bulked up and motivated Cato 4. Dan Langhi, the steal of the draft 5. The leading rebounder in the ACC last year who can also open up the lanes by shooting the 3- Jason Collier 6. This year's 6th man of the year- Cat 7. 2 perfectly integrated role players in SA and Walt. 8. A very capable bench with KT, Rogers, Bullard, and Norris. 9. The wisest player in the NBA to guide them- The Dream. 10. A top 5 coaching and managerial staff. How can you doubt the Rockets won't finish at least fourth in the West?? Am I being too confident? ------------------
1.PORTLAND 2.SAN ANTONIO 3.LOS ANGELES 4.PHOENIX 5.UTAH 6.HOUSTON 7.SEATTLE 8.VANCOUVER I believe however the rockets could sneak into the 5th place ------------------ I'm Out! LATE!
seeds 1 to 4: Spurs Lakers Blazers Utah Seeds 5 to 8: will come from the following, Dallas Houston Minnesota Phoenix Kings Seattle I think our chance at 5 is dependent on how well the new players on the others fit into the team. Lets face it chance can be a good or real bad thing. We know how our players get along and play togather. With only three new, and you know two will work hard to fit in and I think the other one will also. Will the teams with the new players fit togather as well, or will they tend to disagree and have problems on the court and in the press? I don't think I am over estimating what the Rockets will do, I think others are under estimating them. Remember the key word that this team has, and the others are looking for - Chemistry! ------------------
1. Blazers 2. Spurs 3. Lakers 4. Suns 5. Rockets 6. Jazz 7. Sonics 8. T-Pups ------------------ Cheerleaders are just dancers who've gone r****ded. visit www.swirve.com
Rockeem, I'll be in touch with you throughout the season. I'm not saying Hakeem will completely suck, but to think due to loyalty that he will be a 16 million dollar man on any other basis than a check from Les is pretty bold. Of all the Rockets I could meet, it'd be Dream. He is a good man. I like him. But I don't think he be much more than a potential this year. Sure, he'll have an offensive burst at some point. But you are foolish to think that he'll be a stud. ------------------ Watch...the Wizard is gonna work magic this year!
1-Lakers 2-Spurs 3-Seattle 4-Blazers 5-Suns 6-Minnesota 7-Houston - lucky 7 8-Utah - by 1/2 game over Kings ------------------ Too often, we lose sight of life's simple pleasures. Remember, when someone annoys you it takes 42 muscles in your face to frown, but it only takes 4 muscles to extend your arm and pimp-slap the mother****** upside the head!
I never said it would be his loyalty that would be worth 16 mil I said it was his game. I guess if I don't believe in Hakeem no one else will. ------------------
1) LA - Stars intact, only role players have changed. No reason to believe that they won't finish 1st or 2nd. That is unless Rider becomes a cancer, again. 2) SA - Admiral worked hard in preparation for this season. Duncan should be over injury. They will be playing woth pride, tryin to prove that last season was a fluke for them. 3) Portland - Last year I said that all those changes couldn't be good. They proved me wrong until they managed to choke away their Finals berth. While I still hope for a team meltdown, it probably won't happen. 4) Jazz - Like roaches, this team simply will not die. I can see them having a strong season just so they can tire out in the playoffs, as usual. 5) Rockets - Think I'm crazy? Maybe. I think it can happen. It might be unlikely, but it can happen. I think we will all be surprised this year. 6) Dallas - Looking strong this year. I really have nothing to base this prediction on. I just think that they are going to surprise a few. 7) Seattle - If Ewing even makes it throught the season then I will be surprised. Will he slow Payton down? 8) Phoenix - I just have a feeling that they will have their usual bouts with the injury bug. Wild cards 1) Minnesota - No depth and may lose Smith. 2) Sacramento - Overrated. Lost some depth, which was a strong point. Webber doesn't want to be there. Doesn't need to prove anything to anyone. He will get max slary next year regardless. 3) Vancouver - Promising young team. If Othella gets stuck there will he have a bad attitude. How will their new rookie do? ------------------ RocketFuel is dead!
I agree with Space City, the Rockets are alot better than we think.Cato will be a 16pts, 12rbs and 3blks per game and Francis will be a stud and the Rockets will be #5. It goes like this: 1- Lakers 2- Blazers 3- Spurs 4- Suns 5- Rockets 6- Jazz 7- T'Wolves 8- Sonics ------------------ the Heat suck!!
1. LA Lakers - Will still be ahead of Portland. they've finally solved their power forward problem. SCARY! 2. Portland TrailBlazers - Just like the previous offseason, they did a great jod of adding big names to their roster. Just looking at those names on the team....WOW! 3. San Antonio Spurs - If there's anyone who could stop Shaquile O'neal, it's the Spurs' Twin Towers! 4. Phoenix Suns - Who needs Longley? Jason Kidd and a healthy Hardaway should lead them a step closer in the playoffs this year. 5. Utah Jazz - Old?? how many times have they proved ya'll wrong? they added Starks & Manning. However they wont be any much better than last year. 6. Seattle SuperSonics - a close one with the Jazz. Payton finally has the big man he always needed. Though, Will Ewing deliver remains to be seen. 7. Sacramento Kings - As long as Webber's on this team they'll be fine. 8. Houston Rockets - this was a hard choice but i DO belive the Rockets are capable of stealing the final spot in the playoffs. They're simply maturing too quickly. and will make some noise this year. It's actually a tough choice between Minnesota, Sacramento, Houston and Dallas for the final two spots. But i doubt Dallas would make the Playoffs. Peace ------------------ How Sweet it is!
