If you think The Summit is the top of a mountain or some church, it's ok. Welcome, just don't be an ass. If you think of the Compaq center...then that's ok too.

I, for one, had been following the team for some time, but somehow I had no idea what CFs was. My girlfriend at the time, and now wife showed me the light. Why do you think I married her?

Well, that kind of depends on the fans age don't you think?

Anyways, I believe that other true fans are the ones who actually support the Rockets even if they were´t old enough to watch The Olajuwon era.

What a clown... A real fan doesn't care when or how you became a fan... and being a fan longer doesn't entitle you to a damn thing more than someone who just became a fan.

I guarantee, you would never put me at the back of any line... I have been a loyal fan for over 35 years, back when the Giant killer us to play. Back when Booby Joe use to play, Rudy T, Newlin, Malone....

I've seen this team go through more ups and downs and you want to jump on some kind of pedestal and think you have dibs....

Grow the effe up and enjoy the team, save your "better respect me attitude" for your lil friends.

Know this, there are people who demand respect and there are people who command respect... And I also guarantee, no one is gonna give in to your demands....

Yeah needless to say I was under the influence of some heavy stuff when I posted this thread.

It is supposed to be a joke, part-tinman infused, part-99er arrogance. If you were offended by it, then good... that is what I was intending to do.

I will share my story with you n00bs.

I'm an original bandwagoner. I am from California, started watching NBA in 1993. Hakeem instantly became my favorite player. I had Rockets stuff all over my room by the time I was 12, after the two titles.

After that, Shaq and Kobe took over LA and I was surrounded by Laker bandwagoners, just throngs of them everywhere. It was hell. Laker fans are the worst. They are all pieces of ****. Every last Laker fan is a scumbag individual. Every single one.

But I never abandoned my team, I stuck by them through the Stevie-Cat years, and the Yao-Novak years.

Now my son is a native Houstonian and is already rocking his Rockets onesie and learning all about the glorious Beard.

Loyalty is underrated in this day and age.

Proud to bleed Rockets red til I die.

Yeah it's awesome man. My 3 year old doesn't quite get it yet, he just says, "Basketball! You want red Daddy?"

"Yes, son, Daddy wants Red." Then I make him yell, "Go Rockets!" He's on his way. The 6 month old boy, well...he just slobbers, so I have to wait longer on him.

They tend to resent it when you show up Sundays with your Rockets gear on though.

So you were not tinman on roid, but tinman on dope or tinman drunk?

BTW, the back of the bus is too crowded now. Got to throw some people under the bus.

Luckily I don't think anyone fits the criteria of the first two points you made.

If you think Burger King when you heard someone mention The Whopper...
If you don't know who Chicken Man was...
If the only Kermit you know is a frog...

you are welcome to the Rockets bandwagon. Just don't let the bus hit you.
