Can you tell those of us who don't know much about him what to expect over the course of the season?

If I'm not mistaken, his 5 made three pointers didn't even touch the rim which was impressive.

Is he one of the top three point shooters in the league? What about other aspects of his game?

    Thanks!

I remember watching him while he was with the Raptors.

I honestly don't have a high opinion of him. He's a extremely streaky shooter with no control over his shot selection. He will literally pop 4 threes in a row, and then go on to take 6 more contested shots and brick all of them.

I thought he was detrimental to the team in Toronto because he would randomly go Kobe mode and try to do things way way beyond his skill level.

He is a decent shooter, he can be helpful to this team if he takes good open shots like the ones yesterday and try to be Lebron when he clearly isn't.

Delfino can do it all, really. In his younger days he could put up 12 pts, 6 rebounds, 6 assts, 3 stls...all around numbers like that, including 3 pt shooting. Unfortunately he had that severe head/neck injury and it kept lingering on, among a few other injuries. He was bobby sura-esque basically, but as a swingman. He's slowed down now, but still productive.

Sura was never the shooter that Delfino is from 3. Sura was a career 32% three point shooter with 2 season over 35%. Delfino is a career 36% three point shooter and has been over 36% the last 4 years. Basically his first three years in Detroit weren't special as a three point shooter, but the 4 years after that were really good. 38, 37, 37, 36.

He was aptly nicknamed Chuckfino during his days as a raptor.

He has subpar FG% over his career but his 3PT% is surprisingly good.

I think Delfino was brought in for his ability to hit the 3 pointer. Martin was gone this season either way, and we did not have anyone else other than him who could reliably hit the 3. Delfino was probably Morey's backup plan when he trades Martin.

If he sticks to shooting spot up 3s he could be a good addition. As far as I can tell he could make 3s in the fourth quarter, K-Mart doesn't do that very well.

Delfino is a 3 point specialist. He shoots FAR more 3's than any other shot.

That said, his 3 point shooting isn't as good as a Novak, however unlike Novak he can pass, defend and to some extent create his own shot.

And he's definitely a stronger player now than he was in Toronto.

He spreads the floor, does decent help defense, has quick hands (1.5 steals per game), and has some length to contest shots (just don't expect many blocks).

Solid role player who can spread the floor. Just don't expect miracles.

I'm not sure there is a player in the NBA that can shoot 3s as well as Novak.

I watched him up here in MKE for a few years. While I didn't follow the Bucks too closely, I know last night's performance is about right for the Dolphin. It's probably the low end of an average Delfino night.

He seems to be very clutch with the outside shooting, often sparking a second team (or even first team in MKE) offense back to life. He'll also have games where he fills up the stat sheet and you don't notice. At the end of the game, you realize he just dropped a pretty solid line.

In more intangible terms, he's a fairly solid glue guy. He'll hustle and do things well, setting up the team for success.

On the flipside, he'll disappear at times. There were a few stretches where he was absolutely worthless. He's no stud, but he's a great bench spark, glue guy, and vet to bring off the bench.

Novak is the best 3 shooter when no one is on him. I've seen Delfino make some 3s with a hand in his face. So in that aspect, Delfino is a better 3 shooter when being guarded than Novak.

This is a terrible comparison. Like really bad. Novak is a three point specialist and does nothing else. Delfino does a lot of things well. He's actually very similar to Chandler Parsons. He hustles on defense. Solid rebounder. Decent passer. Has a solid stroke.

Delfino's always been a solid shooter/scorer when given the opportunity. Don't expect him to shoot lights out every game though. He should/will chunk up at least 4 or 5 threes a game and will probably grab as many rebounds

I remember his early days as a Piston, so last night was sort of redemption for Delfino. His playing style very much like that of Rudy Fernandez and is/was a pretty good athlete for his size. Like some have mentioned before, he does shoot a bunch of 3's but is perfectly capable of putting the ball on the floor and taking it to the basket.

Another nice role player, he'll play some solid D and he can shoot the 3 well.

I was referring to their all around game, not a direct numbers comparison.

Wells that not true. Novak can hit 3s when being guarded just as well. Pretty sure he went 7/7 in the preseason with most of them with a hand in his face.
