I traded him and Donald Brown for Vincent Jackson and CJ2K to Ziggy for that main. reason. They're gonna be just as consistent as their line and other complimentary players.
I know Hawkins is dicey b/c for me: wk 1 tons of points and targets in garbage time wk 2 very few targets, but hit a big TD play for points wk 3 see week 2 wk 4 few targets, no big play Until someone gets hurt or Binns gets demoted, Hawkins has peaked imo. His awesome TD plays were awesome, but how many Dante Hall like TD YAC plays can he make when he's only getting 2 or 3 targets per game (unless it's a garbage time)? I'm going to cut him if I can fill a need elsewhere. But don't follow me, bc I've been shooting myself in the foot all season.

Random thoughts - Murray has a favorable schedule coming up, Colston will finish with 8tds if healthy but he's not exactly the most consistent guy in the world week-to-week, Gronk's value takes a minor dip with Hernandez back, Morris looks great but you never know with Shannahan, Pettigrew & Murray will have their BYE weeks behind them, the incoming guys will all miss a game, and finally - the best player in the deal is Harvin (PPR).
Seems like you could have gotten way more for Brees. Mathews' inconsistency still leaves you weak at RB. He's not even a 2nd tier RB in my book. Brees is 1st tier QB, but he's also 1st tier fantasy player overall. Mathews is also on the hot seat, barely hanging on to the starter role. He's one fumble away from losing the starter spot. In essence, he's fumbling away his spot (ohhh). Brees can produce. And with a crappy defense behind him, he has more opportunities. They will have to throw because of the shoot outs that NO's crap defense allows (as if they didn't throw enough even with a good defense). Maybe it's the best offer presented to you, but I would rather have Brees in that instance. I would have sent offers to every team with good RBs and see who would accept.
Mathews isn't the starter, it's Battle. Mathews should win it back real soon but Battle can actually play so it could get interesting.

In a PPR, 1 QB and 2 RB starters I have Mendenhall and DeMarco Murray Should I trade away Ray Rice for ... Drew Brees straight up Or Luck and Reggie Wayne Or Luck and Marshawn Lynch
Forgot to mention my current QB is Flacco. My receivers are Cruz, Floyd and garçon. Brees straight up gives me consistency at QB. But that's a lot of trust in Mendenhall and Murray. Luck/Wayne fills up more holes at QB as well as WR2. Again, lots of trust in Mendenhall and Murray at RB. Luck/Lynch gives me better QB while stabilizing my RB position. Still would be leaving points on bench with either Mendenhall or Murray. A lot of this rides on Lucks future fantasy performance. I'm buying into the hype. giving up Ray Rice is huge, but it may be the only way I get a better QB. the same guy has both Brees and Luck.
