what game were you watching? intention was clear. Mays had been complaining about something for 2 qtrs. I was a little upset that our defense to the naked eye did not go on a reprisal rampage. But after viewing the game for a second time, I noticed that our defense was sneaking in an extra shove, elbow, helmet, like the one from gq to brandon.
The thing is that if he went with the forearm shiver to the chest...would have gotten the same result and might have still gotten the penalty...but no one would have thought it was dirty...his action was just reckless...

That angle makes it pretty definitive, and it makes all the Denver fans who believe Mays when he said Schaub intentionally lowered his own head to draw the penalty look like complete assholes. There was no time for any of that. And when in NFL history have QB's actually TRIED to get a helmet to helmet hit on them??? The fact that Mays didn't want his arms having any part of that tackle makes it all the more damning. It was just a cheapshot pure and simple, designed to concuss and injure a player. If the NFL wants this out of their sport, they need to be suspending Mays and Harrison for his hit on Heyward-Bey also. They've proven time and time again that fines are not a deterrent.
And it's not just a hometown bias that leads us to this opinion either. Peter King called it the most violent hit on a QB since Colt McCoy got his bell rung that one time. Fines are guaranteed, it's just a question of how much further they want to go. Personally I couldn't care less if Denver suffers repercussions from their dirty performance against us. I don't want to have to see Halo Rule Manning and that dirty team again in the playoffs if it means they'll make us pay for beating them again.
