This is worse. But the tuck rule happened in playoffs. In the context of the game this was the worst

That was not the worst call in NFL history.
Tuck rule, Holy roller, Testaverde's head counting for a TD, Don Beebee out
of bounds against the Oilers in the comeback.

As a former Packer fan, the worse call against them was Jerry Rice's clear fumble that was called an incomplete pass in the 1999 wild card playoff game. This was late in the game and the 49'ers won 30-27 on that famous TO catch. They should have never had the ball.

You can continue to say that... there's no truth to it whatsoever. The reactions from everyone have NOTHING to do with which team it is. If it was on National TV with any two teams in the NFL and the team that clearly outplayed the other got jobbed like we saw tonight, you'd see the same reactions. It has nothing at all to do with the Packers or Rodgers at all.

When Jay Cutler threw the ball backwards, and Ed Hochuli called it an incomplete pass instead of a fumble.

Ed Hochuli being one of the guys that everyone assumes would have made a different call in this situation.

Your assumption that the normal refs would have made a different call has as much truth to it as the statement you were quoting.

This was as clear cut as Calvin Johnson maintaining possession throughout his controversial touchdown catch.

I thought it was a pick too, but what bothers me more is this whirlwind of people validating each others opinion as fact.

In terms of it's direct outcome on the game...yes, that was undoubtably the worst call in the history of the NFL. There have been worse calls, but none have DIRECTLY decided a game like that before.

The NFL should be ashamed of this. Truly, they should be ashamed of the product they've put out there in terms of the referees. Disgusting...

And Vinny Testaverde whistles nonchalantly and sheepishly walks away, desperately hoping that no one remembers as far back as 1998.

That was obviously horrendous....but this play was also under instant replay and official review, unlike the Testaverde play, which LEAD to official review.

That's what puts it over the top.

The non-call on the offensive pass interference was worse.

GB was stuffing the run near the end, and it looked like Wilson resorted to just throwing it up and hoping a flag comes. Same with Jacoby and his stupid celebratory pose after getting a PI. It's probably been very common to prolonging drives these last 3 weeks.

I'm not assuming the normal refs would have made a different call but judging from all the bad calls these officials made in this game, this was just another horrid one which was the biggest play in the game.

    I don't know who's validating who's opinion as a fact here.

Given the totality of circumstances (replay, horribly called game,) yes its the biggest disaster in NFL officiating history.

off the subject here, but what is stopping all qbs to just let it fly to draw that penalty with the replacements? I wished that call(P.I) was treated like they do in college...just a 15 yard penalty.
