....San Francisco. Will be there all next week. Haven't been in about 12 years. Y'all got any good restaurant/club/things to do suggestions that I may not have had the pleasure of experiencing there?
My wife and I were discussing food the other day, and I asked her about her best five or six meals that she's ever had. She was curious why it was five or six, and I told her that there were six places for me that left the most indelible impressions as far as food goes (for me, it's always about the food). One of my six faves was in San Fran. It's been many years since I've been there, and their food may not be for everyone, and maybe I just hit them on a really good day, so take this with a grain of salt......but this place did provide me with one of my six all time favorite meals: http://www.slanteddoor.com

I highly recommend Cafe Grillades which was recommended to me on my trip by a local friend. Some amazing menu choices. Delicious food! Definitely something different and yummy. http://www.cafegrillades.com/ If you are crazy about cupcakes like my wife is, you need to stop by at one of the Cako locations. My wife has tried cupcakes from a number of bakeries across he world and she claims that the Red Velvet cupcake from Cako is not to be missed. http://www.cako.com/

Was born in The City and lived nearby for many years. My favorite thing to do is what I call the Eating Tour of San Francisco". Start out near Fisherman's Wharf. Get an Italian sandwich, foccacia, and chowder bowl at Boudin bakery. Grab a shrimp and crab cocktail from one of the walkaway stands. Head towards Chinatown and get Dim Sum from any of the restaurants (I tend to go to Golden Dragon, more for the history). head back towards Ghirardelli Square, stop at Buena Vista cafe for an Irish Coffee (and their Corned Beef Hash is awesome). Head to Ghirardelli Square for a hot chocolate and hot fudge sundae. Finish it off with Italian at Tommaso's (hard to find a bad Italian restaurant, but I am less a fan of the trendy ones). A pretty good place to search out is Clement Street. Lots of really good neighborhood restaurants. Since hamburgers are a popular thread here... Bill's Place on Clement is a good one.
