Looks like it is up to 1,000,000 registered users now: As of writing this post, the ArmA II zombie survival mod DayZ has 1,000,145 users. At the beginning of July it broke 400k users, growing exponentially over the course of the month to hit over 900k. Arma II: Combined Operations, which is needed to play the mod, also continues to sit in the top 5 best selling games on Steam. With over 2 billion zombies killed, 22 million deceased survivors and over 180,000 players in the last 24 hours, DayZ shows no signs of stopping. Its fun if you enjoy a semi realistically-paced zombie simulator. If you want non-stop waves of zombies that come at you like an arcade game then this game is not for you.
This game is extremely fun if you have a group of friends to play with and you have Vent/Skype. Playing alone is extremely boring to me.
Yeah, playing a lone is no fun. But as a group, it's pretty damn fun. Although frustrating at times. There are so many new users since the Steam Summer sale of Arma II.
