The difference is that Windows doesn't have any of those apps OOTB.

::sniff:: I can run my 200 dollar Photochop with ease ::sniff::

Anyways, Apple could rename their next iPhone, the Brainwashed Tool Magnet X, and it'll still sell like hotcakes.

    Microsoft is uber jelly.

    heh wtf is photochop?
now photoshop originally was only able to run on macs. and really the point of windows, an operating system, is so the user can decide what programs they want to use. why would a person care if their computers came with a bunch of software they would never use compared to just an operating system they can fit to use just what they need... its more cost effective.

its very much a catch22ish ad. either they are calling their customers idiots or the software isnt so 'easy' to use.

The point of those silly adds isn't to reach people like you or me...More AOL than the hipsters they've locked down.

It makes a lot of sense.

I switched to a mac this year. I had a hard time learning the software at the beginning. I still don't see how the mac is any easier to use than a pc for most applications.

The mac does have a significant advantage in design, hardware, and the gestures + touchpad.

The last time I bought a PC that computer came with a ton of software that I didn't want: free trials of norton antivirus, spam removers, optimizers, etc...

At least Apple includes useful programs. I don't have to immediately format my Apple like I did for my last two PC computers.

It goes back to hardware/software integration. Microsoft voluntarily cedes that option by not controlling the hardware. If it's not Microsoft's prerogative, fine, but they have the option to put out their own hardware. Google learned the lesson that they shouldn't depend entirely on 3rd parties for hardware; Microsoft is following suit (e.g. Surface).

I love my Mac. I didn't buy mine to show off to other people. So I couldn't give two ****s what it makes me look like.

Agreed. Some people are label whores but I bought mine because I like the OS and it's great at the photo and video editing I do as a hobby. If anyone thinks I look like a pretentious douche for using a Mac... F*** them.
