I can't wait for Murray to announce the Rockets getting Dwight. Muery's a beast!

Because they board has been infested with posters whose whole goal in life is to be negative about the Rockets without any real reason. I mean, if we were the Bobcats, fine. But we have been competitive year in and out with some terrible luck but people can't seem to look further than their tip of their nose and they want to lash out like little children and the most public figures for the team.

I tell you, some of these fools would be unhappy if we pushed for a 7 game series in the Finals against Miami and we managed to lose in triple overtime with a 1 point deficit after miraculous plays from both the players and the refs against the Rockets. They would still find a way to say it was Morey's fault.

Basically, anyone who finds a way to misspell Morey is looking to be a 610 fan and think Josh Innes is the messiah of sports radio. Everyone else has sense and doesn't go along with the foolishness.

Chicago Bulls Offseason Moves & Analysis

bulls small logoUNDER CONTRACT: G Derrick Rose, F Carlos Boozer, F Luol Deng, C Joakim Noah, G Richard Hamilton, F Taj Gibson, G Jimmy Butler, F Vladimir Radmanovic, C Nazr Mohammed, G Marco Belinelli

    DRAFT PICKS: G Marquis Teague

FREE AGENTS: G-F Ronnie Brewer, G Mike James, G John Lucas, F Brian Scalabrine

MOVES: For the first time in franchise history, the Bulls are going to have to pay the luxury tax – and really don’t have much to show for it. GM Gar Forman refused to match the three-year, $25 million offer sheet Houston gave Omer Asik because he will receive $14.1 million in the final season of the deal. That’s 2014-15, when the Bulls already will have roughly $50 million committed to Derrick Rose, Joakim Noah and Carlos Boozer. But Asik isn’t the only member of the “Bench Mob” that won’t be back. Kyle Korver was dealt to Atlanta for cash and a $5 million trade exception. Ronnie Brewer’s option of $4.37 million was not picked up. C.J. Watson also was waived and signed with Brooklyn. And Chicago has shown no interest in bringing back John Lucas or Mike James, which means all of the point guards who filled in admirably when Rose was hurt last season are gone. Rose’s torn ACL will keep him out until January at the earliest, and his new caddies are Kirk Hinrich, the former Bull who was re-signed for $6 million over two years through the mini-mid-level exception, and rookie Marquis Teague. Forman did try to rebuild his bench on the cheap, nabbing Nazr Mohammed on a veterans’ minimum deal to replace Asik and adding range shooting by signing Vladimir Radmanovic to a one-year veteran deal and Marco Belinelli for $1.9 million through the bi-annual exception. Neither Radmanovic nor Belinelli are stalwart defenders; on offense, they are only effective playing off double-teams or dribble penetration. Without Rose, the Bulls don’t have anyone who commands a double-team or can easily get inside a defense.

TO-DO LIST: Not matching on Asik was somewhat of a surprise but allows Forman to keep in place a long-term plan. Reserve forward Taj Gibson – who often plays ahead of Boozer in crunch time – is due for an extension next summer, when Richard Hamilton’s contract comes off the books. Forman can then reload in the summer of 2014, when Luol Deng’s contract expires. At that time, he can also use the amnesty clause on Boozer and have enough room to sign a free agent to a maximum contract to play alongside Rose, Gibson, Noah and perhaps a re-signed Deng. For next season’s roster, the Bulls also are considering signing forward Malcolm Thomas, who lit up the summer league, and Chicago native Patrick Beverley, who worked out with the team but did not play in the summer league. Veteran free agents the Bulls have looked at include Jonny Flynn and Donte Greene.

PROJECTION: The Bulls will look different next season, and not just because Hinrich is running the offense until Rose returns. Asik, Watson, Brewer, Korver and Lucas all were rotation players last season. That is a huge turnover for a team that has had the NBA’s best record in each of the last two years. Chicago will fall from the 60-win stratosphere. The Bulls are going to take a step back – at least in the regular season – and it could be far enough to fall behind Indiana in the Central Division.

Wow, what a titanic blow the Derrick Rose injury was.

Not only did it blow up their season last year, but the Bulls now have to bring in a mediocre player in Hinrich - who has been flat-out terrible the last 2 years - and another journeyman in Belinelli as insurance, which combine to cost them any chance at keeping one of their more promising youngsters.

Huge, epic fail, Bulls. You coudl have had Courtney Lee instead.

Ok, that is what I had thought after seeing it multiple times. Figured that many people couldn't be that bad at spelling (well, I hoped not anyway). Thanks all for the replies/insight. It's too bad people can't just grow up and show some respect.

Ronnie Brewer wouldn't be a bad pick up. Somebody will get him cheap since the Bulls declined him as well.

So does having Asik mean we can take on less bad contracts, but likely to have to give more up for Dwight (if that's what we're still trying to do)?

Asik Finally he is a Rocket. According to Chron.com Jonathan Feigen

Rockets to get Asik as Bulls say they won’t match

The Rockets won’t have to wait for a late night call to know they have landed their center today. The Bulls told representatives of Omer Asik that they will not match the Rockets’ offer sheet, a person with knowledge of the process said.

The Bulls prepared to move on by reaching an agreement with Oklahoma City free agent Nazr Mohammad on Saturday. Though they have not yet made an announcement, they told Asik’s representatives of their plans in advance of tonight’s deadline. An announcement could come at a press conference today to introduce guard Kirk Hinrich.

The Rockets had made Asik among their top free agent targets, meeting with him in Los Angeles at the first moment contact was permitted. He will sign a three-year, $25.1 million contract. It will count $8.36 million each season toward the Rockets’ salary cap.

An elite defensive center both in pick-and-roll and at the rim, Asik averaged 3.1 points and 5.3 rebounds in 14.7 minutes per game last season.

What is this Asik's guy game like? Is he as good as Hayes? Any NBA comparisons?

Will Leslie show up at the Asik press conference?

Les showed at the presser for their other $25M man. Will he do Omer?

    Great nation of Turkey awaits.

How can the Knicks pick up so many guys? I would've liked to have Brewer on the Rockets in case we lose Martin & Lamb.

remember how we always said what if chuck hayes was just four inches taller?
well that's what you get with asik minus the flawless passing skills, great hands and legendary followers like hayesfan. =)

Hope he works his arse off like hayes did to eventually hit fts.
