In a Dwight trade and if the Rockets have the cap space he can be packaged with a min contract for JRich or Davis (150%)
I don't care. Leuer can play. He isn't anything special, but he can play. Fortson and Simpson suck. You're telling me you couldn't at least have gotten a protected future 2nd for Leuer? I don't get it.
Well... can we get rid of Fortson too? He's not cut out to be a D-League waterboy much less contribute as a backup point in the best league in the world.
Aw well they're just back ups anyway, I'm sure it was a guaranteed money thing anyway, for not keeping them.
Looks like Asik and Bynum could both be here soon. LAL will get Dwight and we need as much dough as possible to absorb all of those crap contracts back.
Leuer's contract guarantee isn't the issue. Even on a guaranteed contract he's a trade-able piece and more valuable than the like of Fortson or Simpson. The issue is him not being trade-able -- unless it's on his own -- for still more than a month. I understand the logic behind it, in that you might need all the non-guaranteed throw-ins at your disposal to match the incoming salaries in a bigger trade, but I still wish would have found a way to avoid waving Leuer. He'll be a nice, cheap addition to whomever picks him up on waivers.
I'm sure Morey tried his best just like he tried trading Scola so he didn't have to use amnesty. Unfortunately, there were no takers.
I think Greg Smith is KMac pet project and he will work with him all summer and force him to be the back-up. An Shaun Livingston the year in Washington with playing time showed he had recovered minutes were cut last year key to trade will be the back up and knee should be stronger.
