Premium market for expirings more like. Like when Keith Van Horn came out of retirement or when Aaron Mckie got paid as a player by the Lakers while assistant-coaching the 76ers.
Yeah but he also only played 10 mins a game, if he played 30 misn that could have been 9 and 15. And unlik Hump who plays with cream puff C, Asik shares the floor with another stud in the Bulls backup PF (forgot his name).
Deron Williams: 20m ish Joe Johnson: 19.7m Gerald Wallace: 10m Kris Humphries: 12m Brook Lopez: 13.6m 75.3m for just the starting lineup... Must be nice to have a billionair owner
Ya maybe $12 million dollars a year is alot but listen to my arguments before you say something. 1. Do not read the following with the pre-judgement of Humphries affiliated with the Kim K stuff. That has not basketball relevance. 2. You people who say it was a bad contract, it maybe, but it is only slightly more than he deserved. This guy is relatively young and AVERAGES a double double. OMG do you know understand what that means. Luis Scola couldn't average a double double next to the shortest starting Center probably ever to play. It honestly does not matter if you are next to a weak rebounding C because the other team has two other guys waiting for those rebounds. Also, the dude can score and isn't just a rebounder. 3. We offered almost a similar contract to Omer Asik or will likely offer a similar contract. Omer asik is not nearly as proven and was the fourth big man off the bench for Chicago. People saying that is ridiculous, Lin and Asik's contracts are ridiculous. 4. The Nets probably have the 2nd best starting 5 after the Lakers or Spurs depending on what you think. C: Lopez (if healthy) PF: Humphries SF: Wallace SG: Johnson PG: Williams 6th Man: Marshon Brooks 7th Man: Gerald Green That is probably a 3-5 seed in the east competing with Indiana, Celtics, Bulls. Miami probably takes #1 seed.
This is actually a really nice deal for the Nets. I usually don't say that a lot about them because they are free spenders, but its 2 years and 24 million. The Nets are pretty set for this year, but the key to this deal is the 2 years. This contract that people say are an over payment becomes a valuable expiring contract just a year from now. Great deal for both the Nets and Humphries.
At times..I think that GM DMorey overpays on some players...and then i look around the league and see things like this...which makes me smile...Better hide that money Kris...BTW Kris, you know that cash sucking ____ is gonna come after some of that...
KHump is a $6-7M player. He's a big man whose career FG avg 46% and has only shot above 50% for one season.
When i said "right below" I was referring to salary, not skill. Chandler will make 13 million this upcoming season. and KH, I'm assuming, will make 12, unless the contract isn't split up evenly.
Tis glorious plan to bring Dwight howard! <a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/hoy_en_la_revolucion/6991616175/" title="russa by *The last son of krypton*, on Flickr"><img src="http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7065/6991616175_d6d6b9218a.jpg" width="500" height="260" alt="russa"></a>
Owners blaming players for the last lockout.. but when you see contracts like this, you just shake your head
Nets owner likes to spend and it might be worth it The Nets look like the preseason favorite to finish runner up in the east
