They look like a .500% basketball team to me.

This whole situation boils down to one thing. If Dwight will sign an extension here.

Make the trade, hell swap rosters with the Magic. Tell Dwight that if he signs an extension we will bring him either CP3 or Josh Smith next year to play with him. In 3 years all the bad contracts are gone, you now have Dwight, CP3/Smith, go get another star even if you have to trade away picks up to the 2020 season, and worse comes to worse gut the rest of the lineup and go Miami style where the other 9 guys are playing for the league min.

That's only if Dwight will re-sign.

Question, would Howard still be a free agent next season if this trade happened?

Realize you are dealing with a whole lot of uneducated people on this board that do not understand the basics of basketball or even understand to win a championship you must have a superstar.

Ha, I don't get Bucher and Schmitz saying the Rockets are going to acquire Howard(if they do), only to turn around and flip him to the Nets at the deadline. Why?

-Also keep in mind the Courtney Lee situation-

This deal, or re-signing, will be key to the Rockets either putting another pieces around the roster that is depleted after the trade, or in a trade ahead of time to get other players, or picks to send in the deal that will keep valuable players in Houston to keep the surrounding cast competitive.

Very important what happens on this front.

-Also that Camby trade really was amazing. Those players and picks coming back will be huge in getting this done the right way.

After this trade, our Roster would be

    Dwight Howard
    Glen Davis
    Chris Duhon
    Q Richardson
    Toney Douglas
    Jon Brockman
    Donotas Mantiejunas

7 players left? We would have no ability to trade for anyone. Would we be in Cap Hell? Basically, we moved the Orlando Magic from the Eastern Conference to the Western conference. How are we going to convince him to stay when he wasn't happy with these guys in Orlando. Maybe he was looking forward to playing with Jon Brockman.

Deal makes no sense. Cannot imagine Morey has both hands around his ankles as this trade suggests.

Is Howard really willing to burn all his bridges on a new team by continuing to demand a Brooklyn trade? I don't believe it. This Dwightmare has tarnished his legacy & image. If he's really willing to go through this again with a franchise that gave up everything to get him, then he's a Grade A douchebag and I'd hope Morey trades him to Toronto.

So, we're dumping everything for a player that doesn't want to be here, and will probably be gone next season?

If that happens, DM needs to go!

I don't understand this offer. We would have left virtually the same team that Howard didn't like playing with last year to point where he quit the Magic. How are we going to entice him to stay when we have nothing left to play with?

Why not? I think that will happen because Dwight doesn't want to be here.

Some of ESPN's basketball reporters have a habit of throwing #### at the wall to see what sticks. The "offer" they reported would basically mean the Rockets would be the 2012 Magic plus Toney Douglas and Donuts. And oh yeah, we wouldn't have any draft selections in the next two years.

Uh, no. All the unchecked fury here needs to subside - there is no way on earth that this offer is actually out there. Everyone settle down.
