What are you talking about?? they can't even trade next years pick. Plus their not gonna trade picks in future drafts for what could possibly end up being a one year rental.
Question - Let's say we pass on the Howard trade and the team totally sucks next year....is that really so bad? Consider this....we keep all our young guys, our own top 5 draft pick(our record should warrant this), raptors top 10 pick, plus cap space for 2 max contracts. Sounds like a short rebuild to me. Say we get lucky and get the top three pick next year (I know just go with me) and can get Josh Smith and A. Jefferson to sign max deals. Our "rebuild" lineup could look like this.... PG - Use the Raptors lottery pick to take or trade for someone. SG - Shabazz Muhammad(currently #3 on nbadraft.net) SF - Parsons PF - J. Smith(unrestricted) C - A. Jefferson(unrestricted) *I know he's more of a PF but i think he can play some C in today's NBA or see if A.Bynum really wants to come here as he's also unrestricted.
Agreed... I just done understand. Let's get Dwight then hopefully next year we can pair him with CP3 and a great supporting cast... Morey has shown he can get good role players all he needs is a superstar to build Around and go from there
If we want to resign Dwight we better start by resigning his buddy Courtney Lee or throw money at Mayo.
Before: Howard+Lee= friends Howard+Josh Smith= friends Howard+Lee+Josh Smith=Win Now Howard-Lee=no friend Howard-Smith=no friend Howard-Lee-Smith=no win
INCREDIBLY STUPID!!! We just gave up Scola for free, a fan favorite and our best player on this team. I currently hate you Morey!
So the Rox let go a up and coming PG in Dragic, trade away a good pg in Lowry, sign a Lin to a contract that everyone knows the Knicks will match, and now amnesty a good player and teammate in Scola for a chance to get a guy who has told everyone that he's gone after the upcoming season and going to Brooklyn at all costs. smh.
It looks like after next season Hedo ($6M) and Duhon ($1.5M) can be bought out? Can anyone confirm? If so then taking on their contracts isn't that bad.
this. you're telling me no team would have taken Scola? The guy's got an extremely reasonable contract. You're telling me that we couldn't have flipped him for some additional assets for Morey's (crack)pipe dream?
For a team to claim Scola off amnesty waivers it would cost a team 10.4 in cap space for the next two years. So he's likely to clear waivers. Is it possible for the Rockets to re-sign him?
