It's the freaking New York Post bro! why not quote the National Enquirer?

It's the same paper that employs this man ...

NY matches but if Lin can't mesh with Melo they trade him to a team like the Mavs for example.

Lin must not have been following Rockets transactions over the last several years. Morey is the CLASSIC 'wait for someone else to set the price on a restricted free agent' guy. Every RFA we have had has been offended by that. It's nothing personal - it's just good business.

The NY Daily News is trolling. Lin is a Harvard man and I suspect he understands basic math and leverage.

The worst thing in the world for him would have been a Knicks offer. Per the rules of the salary cap NY could only have offered a max 4/24 contract. That's it, they could't offer him a penny more.

The actually did him a favor in telling him to go out and sign the best offer sheet he can, which could have been 4/40 million, and that they'd match it.

Lin will be making far more than the Knicks could have paid him by signing the offer sheet with Houston. He knows that. His agent most certainly knows that and wouldn't have let him sign a Knicks sheet. The Knicks know that and the NY Daily News knows that. The News is just looking to create a story.

Difference being Maggette didn't even finish a semester at Duke while Lin graduated from Harvard.

i would rather have jeremy lin than goran tragic. you know what you have with dragic. he pretty much is what he is with maybe a miniscule amount of improvement ash he gets even more minutes. Lin has much greater upside & will bring more excitement. what's surprising is the number of knicks fans who didnt care if they lost him or not. i mean what a buncha ingrates. Its as if they forgot what a pathetic state they were in before lin emerged.

any reason to think that he is not? he was smart enough to get scola from the spurs no less .. smart enough to trade a crapped out tmac for picks and kmartin.... smart enough to use the summer league success of green to get artest (helped us win a playoff series) smart enough to get dragic for brooks ..

haha right on! lets completely overlook the fact that giving lin 15 million for one year would be grossly overpaying for him .. lets just assume bc he didnt get 15 million that it was a consipiracy

Where did this $15 mil come from? No team is stupid enough to pay that kind of money. The offer was for 4 years 30 mil with a team option for the last year. What's there not to like? Only about $18 mil guaranteed over 3 years.
