Not a huge Devon Harris fan but I really like getting our pick back. Solid move, Martin would do well standing at the arc with Deron feeding him.
why are we only talking howard and josh smith. We need to be looking at other trade packages we can offer now that we got rid of lowry and have this new asset. Time to take out the rolodex and roster list and fire up the trade machine. We are limiting ourselves if we only say howard and josh smith.
We trade Kmart for Devin Harris like previously mentioned than we trade Ppat, Scola, Morris, and Toronto's pick for Josh Smith. Our lineup would look like this: Devin Harris, Zoran, Machado OJ Mayo (FA), Lamb Parsons, White, T Jones Josh Smith, Motie, Asik (FA), Greg Smith That's a #5 seed in the West if healthy, seriously. Who's better? OKC LAL LAC MEM? SAS?
How about Scola for Gasol straight up? With Nash going to LA, their tax bill is going to be through the roof. Scola offers similar production as a 4th option at half the price. A follow up move for Howard then makes us a legit contender.
That old news about Scola got me to thinking. Why not go after Andre Iguodala. Something like: Scola Morris Leuer pick For: Iguodala Too much?
Rockets trade: Luis Scola, Terrence Jones or Royce White, Dallas top 20 protected pick Spurs trade: Tiago Splitter Matt Bonner The spurs get a good high potential rookie, a good future pick ( I know Cuban has something up his sleeve.) and Scola. Although I love Scola he would be a great fit with the Spurs running with Parker, knocking down jumpers, and he'd be a more dangerous post threat since opposing team will be focused on Duncan. ( I know he's not as dangerous as before, but it will help.) We would get a great big man in Splitter. I know he's valuable to the Spurs, but I think that squeezing one more title with Scola would be more valuable to them. Plus Splitter is a free agent next year, and some team might steal him away so thy get pretty good value back. Tiago had 9 points 5 rebounds in only 19 minutes a game last year. He's also in his prime at 27 years old. He'd be a great back-up to Asik, or if Chicago matches a good starter. Bonnet would just be there to match salaries he's a solid role player who'd expire in the following season. I just think this would be a great move I know we might be giving up a bit, or Splitters to good to part with, but I felt I made a food proposal. Lin(Bayless, Williams, sessions, I'm just as lost as you are lol)/Machado/ Fortson Martin/Lamb Parsons/Morris/White(Jones) whichever they prefer lol Motiejunas/Patterson/Leur/Bonner Asik(Splitter)/Splitter/Smith By the way I'm one of those lunatics convinced that Motiejunas is our savior it'll you're wondering about the rotation lolol and I also just put Royce and Jones at SF to make it look better haha
I'm not a Morey hater. Im not too fond of McHale But in this scenario if there were a FO house cleanse I think you are spot on in your hiring. Minimum should be final candidates
Trades to balance out the roster, while still sustaining assets. Sacramento Kings & Houston Rockets Sacramento receives: PF Patrick Patterson and SF Marcus Morris For the Kings, they get to add a high upside SF(a position of need), while also adding a PF that gives them quality depth behind Thomas Robinson. Houston receives: PG Jimmer Fredette and C Hassan Whiteside For the Rockets it kills some unwanted depth at both PF and SF position, while also getting two good young players at positions of need, at both center and point guard. Chicago Bulls & Houston Rockets (Sign & Trade) -( Don't know if this is still possible, but would love to see this happen.) Chicago Bulls: SG Kevin Martin Houston Rockets: C Omer Asik Atlanta Hawks & Houston Rockets Atlanta Hawks: PF Luis Scola Houston Rockets: PG Devin Harris Rockets Roster 2012-2013 PG: Devin Harris / Jimmer Fredette SG: Jeremy Lamb / Jarydd Bayless(FA) SF: Chandler Parsons / Royce White PF: Donatas Motiejunas / Terrence Jones C: Omer Asik / Hassan Whiteside / Greg Smith
Whiteside and Fredette both suck. Seriously, those guys shouldn't net anything in a trade. Especially Whiteside.
http://espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine... Had to throw in a few to make it work on trade machine, but essentially Marcus Morris for Gortat if The Dwight sweepstakes fail. It would be a great marketing ploy for the rebuilding Suns franchise. We could absorb the cap hit straight up for Morris, the Milwaulkie big 3...if necessary add Patterson, although I believe that the Girl scout like rebounder that Patterson is might have a breakout year. Gortat at center >>>>>>>>>>>>>> Scola at center.
