Charlie on 790 is the only thing I listen to. All else is garbage if you ask me.

I only used that reference to indicate that Morey is smart enough to NOT start the season without a PG or C. That's it.

IMHO, I pretty much only listen to 610... I think the Morey bashing is warranted based on his tenure with the Rockets and the results he's produced. Same thing happened with the Rick Smith and Gary Kubiak after years of mediocre and horrible seasons...

Under Morey Tenure the Rockets have started the season plenty of times with a legitimate Center... ala Chuckwagon

I really dont think it's fair to judge Morey based on the last 2 seasons simply because last year was truly when the rebuilding process begun.

    Morey's Career as GM
    07-08 (55-27) - Morey's first year as GM - 22game win streak/yao injured/t-mac MVP candidate/First round exit - various team injuries
    08-09 (53-29) - added Artest/T-Mac out/Yao out/1 game away from WCF
    09-10 (42-40) - Yao missed entire year/T-Mac traded (T-Mac/Yao still on payroll)
10-11 (43-39) - Yao injured again, missed rest of the season (Yao still on payroll)
    11-12 (34-32) - Coaching staff changed/full-rebuilding stages began

Yes, it's frustrating to see the stage the Rockets are in right now, but Morey hasn't even been given a fair shot to build this team from ground up. Considering the complete roster overhaul that's been done over the years, he has yet to have a losing season! Personally, i would give him at least another 2-3 years before calling him a failure as GM.

If you listen to them talk they really don't know basketball and they don't seem to have a clue whats going on in the NBA.

I think it's funny how these outsider idiots call us homers, but get all up tight over their hometown teams. One guy is from Boston so he always references the success of the patriots/redsox, but completely forgets to mention the woes of the patriots in the 80s before bledsoe or how clutch boston was before 2004. =/
Josh is just a hippocrite. mediocracy followed the st louis cardinals through the 90s.
    It's all cyclical.
If you don't like our city and sports culture gett out of my dried lawn!

And if you're a sports radio guy from another city who has been living in houston for more than 10 years, then you're in you're right to say...." F' you maury. I don't care that superstars just want to fornicate with each other in the cities they have deemed great. You graduated from MIT so invent the time machine and bring back hakeem to 2012, you f'n loser! Fire Maury!!!"

It's good to be critical just not from outsiders who are homers themselves and are collecting a paycheck working in our glorious motherland!

& that's all I have to say about that.

**talk about insomnia. 3 20 am. yikes. need mas sexo.

Wow. Comments like that can only be said by a 2nd rate radio station. I'm glad I stopped listening to them.

I do like the getting my local sports fix in the weekend on 610 but honestly, those weekend guys dont really know what they're talking about.

I have no preference. They both do it on 790 and 610. Maybe there is something to it? I dont know. That sentiment is growing not just on sports talk shows but around the league among players it seems like. For whats its worth I wouldnt want it to spread as common knowledge of the Rockets disarray. It just seems like all of their dirty laundry or moves not made are so out in the open though.

Homers? Is it a requirement that everyone hosting a radio show must be good at talking out of their ass? If anything, CF is far more critical of the Rockets than the national media.

This really seems to be true as they often analyze topics overly subjectively and are often missing key pieces of information. Just a quick example: they've been extremely critical of the Steve Nash trade as if he wasn't a free agent and couldn't have walked somewhere without giving the Suns anything. Phoenix was obviously willing to part ways as was evident in the drafting of Kendall Marshall and signing of Dragic, so it was a nice little bonus transaction for them. Now, I'm not sure how smart it was to trade him to a division rival, but that wasn't the part of the trade they were hammering away at. All I kept hearing was 'OMG NASH FOR FOUR 2ND ROUNDERS LOL'.

Also, one thing I take issue with is the constant stream of Rockets bashers that call-in and magically find themselves on-air. In the past, they would defend the organization and now they just egg them on and laugh. Very unprofessional, although professional was never a word I'd use to describe that station anyway. Could be part of why the Rockets chose to move in the first place.

No, that isn't true. Everyone knew Yao was done in 2009. That's when the clock started ticking. That Les and Morey drug that out an extra two years is absolutely on them. We are not one year into the rebuild. That is BS. We are three years into the rebuild.

I wholeheartedly agree with this. I recently switched to 790 from sports radio 610 and discovered the genius of Charlie Pallilo. This guy is like a walking sports encyclopedia and he does his show solo.

I've grown rather annoyed by the programming on 610 and how they've handled criticism of the Rockets' recent off-season moves is the last straw. They even had the audacity to say that the Rockets are so insignificant that the number 1 sports radio show in Houston let them walk and sign with a second-rate radio station 790. On the other hand, these guys don't have scathing criticisms on the Texans. Despite the Texans only having one playoff victory in a decade, you would think they were going to win the Super Bowl this year from listening to the guys on 610. Why does that team get a pass every season, but not the Rockets?
