C'mon. The Rockets are gonna pony up the dough for Goran while dealing Kyle + for a princely sum. Dragic showed he could log major minutes, fill up a stat sheet, and play strong both ways. But most important of all, the Rockets were and are a better team with Goran at the helm. He'll be paid commiserate with his abilities AND the circumstances surrounding his UFA status.....Goran had the opportunity and REALLY stepped up at the right time....he's getting paid.. by us. Dragic is a key piece.
10M is absurd, considering he's not proven. He could very well be Darren Collison all over again, and regress. Kyle is underpaid, but he still has the better contract, and we know what we're getting with him. Goran in an 82 game season, who knows.
Has any Morey created "asset" ever went above and beyond their asking price? Serious question. Like Billy Beane's asset generator, most have either flamed out or diminished performance long after they were off the Rockets. It's kinda sad actually. I liked those bums, but I haven't heard much of them post-Rox.
What are you saying? You're insinuating effects but not specifically saying what you think are the causes. If you tried to, I think you'd feel silly.
That the whole has been greater than its parts. That their value has been undetermined due to a pattern of mostly unstable and inconsistent rosters. They're decent players and given a good situation they can shine, but they're not necessarily players that can command the salaries they say they're looking for. Otherwise, our forums would have threads crying about the former Rox "who got away" with more people calling for Morey's head.
people sound like the 10 million a year is coming out of their own pockets haha I for one can care less how much alexander pays to keep gogi I just want my favorite and the rockets best player back. Although 10 mil is pretty expensive.
10 mil is the mean salary of an average starter in the nba. problem is that pg is saturated right now and gogi is not really the 15th best pg and the new cba is very anti-big contract unless you are a star.
I said during the season, I would go $10M for Gogi, I'm sticking to that. Pay the man. That said, this is just his starting point in negotiation I'm sure. Players have two numbers, the number they want, and the number they will actually accept. I predict he winds up signing with Houston for $8-9M per season.
If Asik or the Kwame Brown of the world are worth 8 million, Dragic is worth it. Dude was as 18 points 9 assists 4 boards 2 steals 49% FG an 37% 3pt as a starter type player.
