Adrian Wojnarowski @WojYahooNBA Brooklyn and Atlanta are engaged in talks on a possible Joe Johnson trade, sources tell Y! Nets plan would be to pair with Deron Williams.
Deron cannot play by himself forever. But at 4 years and more than $90 million left, that's one expensive Johnson.
Adrian Wojnarowski @WojYahooNBA Both Hawks and Nets are engaged in talks on several fronts. No deal close on Johnson, but sides have gone back and forth on possibility.
Taking Joe Johnson and signing Deron Williams pretty much guarantees you don't have enough cap space to sign Dwight Howard (and they don't have enough assets to trade for him, either).
Marshon brooks and/or Anthony morrow for him. But would they have enough cap space for Dwight Howard next summer with Williams, Johnson, and Wallace (assuming he resigns) under contract? What happens to Lopez?
Joe Johnson is overrated and overpaid. I love his game and he's a great player, but not a max player.
This is where the Rockets join in on the party and try to pry away Josh Smith for Scola and Kevin Martin. Then turn to Dwight and go "Hey man, Nets have no space for you. We have two of your buddies (lee and Smith). Join us" Seriously though, this deal must happen. Just for universal comedy.
jay z knows a bootylicious booty when he sees one and mikhail knows his jean cuts but both don't know what a star is. Wallace? lol! now joe johnson! good luck with "megastar" deron williams taking you to a .400 record. nets should just wait it out let williams work his magic and get another lotto pick but this time.. don't TRADE it.
if atl can get rid of johnson, that's a huge step in the right direction, especially if they get back brooks in the deal. they get a younger, cheaper sg with potential in brooks. like others said, if we can come in and get j smoove for cheap, that would be awesome
I wonder if they can arrange a deal in which JJ is amnestied and Brooks and our pick obligation is sent to the Hawks.
