[FORMAL WEAR] How many NECKTIES (of any kind) do you have?

    How many NECKTIES (of any kind like regular, bow-ties, clip-ons, cravats, bolo, etc.) do you have?

    I have 26 I've gathered as gifts, bought myself, traded, etc. Yes, I've traded some. They range in many brands, colors, etc. I think I need a purple one. The last I received was a present for my SwoLy birthday from my 'ma. :cool:

    You all might remember my Halloween photo when I dressed up as Andy the 'Nard Dawg from The Office... I still have that blue-and-green one. I mostly have solid-colored shirts, so in my repertoire I have mostly striped ties which I tie into full Windsor.

    I am currently on a no-repeat-TIE streak of about 19 days that spans about 5 weeks (some days I don't wear a tie at all, like on "Hawaiian shirt Fridays" as per Bill Lumberg).

    Just wanted to throw a style and class thread out there for all of us "GQ'd" gentlemen out there in CF land. Let's not make this a competition at all about numbers.

    I apologize if it seems like a "macho" thread, ladies... since y'all don't wear ties. :eek: Tell us about your man's neckties...

    I got tired of people picking on the HR guy for dressing up to much for work. lol

    Hi, my name is bejezuz and I have a tie problem.

    Granted, I wear them everyday at work. I haven't counted how many, but I'm sure it's up to 40 by now. I have a motorized tie rack that is about 80 percent full.

    I'm pretty cheap about my ties. I used to buy them on clearance at JC Penney, but their ties aren't silk anymore and I'm beginning to prefer quality slightly over variety. I usually buy ties at one of the big discount retail stores like TJ Maxx or K&G. I still won't pay much more than 15 bucks for a tie if it's silk, 10 bucks if it's really nice and synthetic.

    I'm thinking about expanding to EBay. There are plenty of sellers that can get you really nice, classic used ties for cheap. I'm planning to start buying used Brooks Brothers ties. Some of their patterns and colors are just unbeatable.

    I cut myself off at 20. Five of them are designer brand, the rest I got as gifts or at discount department store type places.

    I would guess about 30 off the top of my head. I could actually count them tonight for an official number, but honestly that sounds like a lot of work for very little gain on my part.

    I only have about 10-15 go-to ties that I use, in a wide range of colors and styles. a couple of wool ties, a couple of solid "power ties", a couple of skinny/slim ties, and a few bright patterned ties...

    I employ the double windsor knot

    I think I have 2 or 3. I think the last time I put one on was for a court appearance about 20 years ago. Stupid mar1juana laws.

    I think the bigger question is what kind of knot do you tie for your tie.

    I like the full windsor the bestest, it leaves the knot big and square
