kobe is so irrelevant these days.

First his wife takes away his ring, then the nba stops giving him rings.

yea the dude is almost 34. He came into the leage at 17....he is ancient at this point, he has his rings, give him a break and appreciate him for being one of the greats and now we are ygoing to watch the guy wind down despite of how relentless he is...father time does what it does

37% on ISO isn't that bad, consider Kobe only gets contested fadeaway in ISO. With 2 bigs camping under the hoop, P&R isn't really more effective. They need a PF that can space the floor.

I knew someone will blame Kobe's poor shooting on his bigs. LAME!

He was never "elite" fg% wise, he just shoots a lot more and takes harder shots, not the efficient ones that necessarily help his team.

He also came into the league 3-4 years later than Kobe. So him winning at 35 should be the same as Kobe winning at 31 or 32. Just saying. Lebron is the only one who doesnt show any sign of breaking down anytime soon although he IS about to hit 28 soon.

37% doesn't sound that bad for iso plays

Ive always wondered how come Kobes fg% wasnt higher during the Shaq/Kobe era. With Shaq getting the majority of double teams you would think Kobe would shoot at least 50%. Im I wrong?

A camping big isn't the best friend for shooting efficiency. Shaq was dominant, but he also ate first. It takes time to feed the ball into the post. If Shaq couldn't get a shot off, chance was Kobe had to take a contested shot in deep clock. When the offense started with Kobe (most often in 4th quarter), Shaq couldn't spread the floor so Kobe wouldn't have as much space to go inside, or to post up.

Z and Bosh are the kind of the guys to help clear the middle. There's a reason Riley used Mourning to close the games in 06 playoff.

Remember that ISO plays create the most fouls and they don't count as FGAs. So, you need to look at the overall success of the play, and going to the line for 2 is success.

He obviously knows he shoots better when double or triple teamed.

Kobe's TS% (which takes into account the FTAs that he gets) for this season is 0.527, which I believe to be right around league average. His ORTG, which accounts for turnovers, is also just about league average. Kobe's FTAs per FGAs are also unremarkable. So the Kobe of this season hasn't been all that, efficiency wise. Nor has he I'd give him a break since he's well into his thirties, but try telling some of his hardcore fanboys that he's not the best player in the league right now.

Yeah but is that 37% still better then everyone else?

Its got me thinking now whos better historically and in todays game? I imagine Jordan has to be up there. What about bigs like Hakeem, Kareem and Shaquille? IM too lazy to look it up myself.
