this is good for both teams.

the thunder get a top 5 point guard, one of the best scorers in the league, and a all-star caliber pf

the rockets get westbrook and some scrubs.

I don't see how they can keep harden and ibaka. They won't be able afford both. Otherwise they will have 5 guys making 75 mil.

Either they'll both have to play for pennies for the sake of being on a good team or one of them will leave to make more. Both have qualifying offers after next season. I'm thinking Harden will leave for more money AND a starting position.

Of course not. Those super young stars are not easy to come by.

Their big three are going to be broke up regardless.

The problem is that perkins contract is ridiculous and they are going to have to figure out how to get it off the books or I don't see them being able to sign harden or ibaka.

Honestly, the best move okc can do is couple harden and perkins in a deal and keep ibaka, because if they did it the other way: couple ibaka an perkins together they have no quality low post men on the team.

If they can't trade perkins somehow then they have two choices: pay the luxury tax for the duration of perkins contract or let serge and harden walk.

    Deceiving thread title.

There is no way they trade anyone, unless it scores them either Howard or Deron Williams. They won't trade Durant.

    Lets say hypothetically speaking .......

    Westbrook/Perkins(and or Ibaka) + pick FOR D.Howard/Turk

    Who says no?

They should, but it makes too much sense. And the Thunder have this "loyalty/ belief" thing going on with their players (aside from Jeff Green).

I think they would ask for Durant instead.

But that ain't happening, but it would be a sick move.

Yeah ...damn loyalty!!Its a business and if loyalty gets you swept in the Western Conference Finals to a supposedly aging Spurs team then some change may be needed....and this makes sense for both teams IMO.

OkC could have a Line up 0f.....

    Fisher/FA/Maybe Jameer/duhon in trade
Harden (can start now with the depature of Westbrook)
    Durant
    Collison/Turk
    Howard

I think that is a more capable team then the one the currently have ......

    The better team:

    Westbrook
    Thabo

    Ibaka
    Howard

Harden off the bench. That team would be sick.

Would they have enough to sign Dragic if they traded for Howard?

If they have to choose, I'd stick with Harden, Durant, Ibaka as the core. I realize Westbrook has great potential but PGs who want to shoot 20 times a game (and inefficiently at that) do not win you championships. I'd like to see what Harden can do in an even bigger role, taking some of those shots from Westbrook.

If they could trade Westbrook for a solid big with a post game and decent jumper -- and get a distributing PG (imagine Steve Nash in OKC if they could pull that off) that team would be dominant. As it is they play too much one-on-one and jumpshooting -- and pick-and-roll with bigs who can't really finish. They have great one-on-one players, but good team ball is going to beat that ten times out of ten.

    THIS. ^^

    OKC's big men:

    Don't have great passing skills.

    Are no threat to score.

So it's jump shot after jump shot, or slicing to the basket. But take one or both away and, PPPFFFT, flat tire.

No way is OKC blowing up the big three when they lose to the Spurs, even if its a sweep. This marks the second season in a row that they ran into a perfectly assembeled veteran team in the WCF. The Mavs won the title last season, and chances are the Spurs will do the same this season. No shame in losing the WCF to the eventual Finals champ two years in a row. Especailly when your top guys are all young and have room for improvement. Chances are this will be the Spurs last major run with this squad like it was for the Mavs last season. Depending on what the Lakers do there really isin't going to be that veteran threat and what's left is Memphis and LA Clippers at the top along with OKC. They are in a prime position to dominate the west for years to come. No need to change a thing.

I dont think there is a chance in hell this happens, but i think Scola would fit in really well there, and help them out alot.

After the Spurs get done with them, and Westbrook shoots 38% and scores less than a point a shot, Orlando might turn it down.

And Presti turns it down unless Dwight agrees to extend.
