I was a junior in high school, and completely jumping around and losing my mind. Too bad I didn't know about clutchfans site back then ;) I was still too busy with "chatting" and ICQ and waiting for the internet to connect/pages to load.

I hated losing eventually to the Jazz, but this was a GREAT moment - and his reaction was priceless. I love when a player is floored by a game-winner... instead of turning around with a smirk on their face like "it was nothin," "yeh, I know" or "try to stop me."

    man, great vid. good times.

Matt Maloney should have taken that shot, he must have been thinking he was the white LeBron.

Goosebumps to this day when I watch this. I remember running through my house a like a mad man when he hit that shot....I was 14 years old. Man, that was the end of the Golden Era of Rockets basketball.

Also, that was the most important assist of Matt Maloney's career.

Clutch, a season or two later, you had the audio of Gene calling that shot on the splash page... God, I think I love that audio call more than seeing it on video. Is there anywhere I can hear that again?

I was 9 years old and I still remember the EXACT setting and the day that he hit that shot. I will never forget it!

Yeah, it was classic. The best part of that radio call was Jim Foley: "Oh . . . Mother! . . ."

Yes! Cool that you remember that ... the "OH MOTHER!" was on the flash intro of ClutchFans (think I still have it somewhere). But I just finished combining the video of Eddie's shot and audio call by Gene Peterson and Jim Foley. Here it is:

You should put that back on the intro. It was cool to come to this site and hear that everytime.

It's weird how 1997 is becoming a long ass time ago. It really does go fast guys.

I'm not trying to sound like tinman, but it really is a shame that some of you younger guys didn't get to understand the pedigree and force that was rockets bb. It was awesome. That first championship was like busting a nut.

I see tankers and losers around here with rockets shirts on who disrespect our team and past with their loser mentality.

Thanks for posting this I still feel like we are a charmed team even though we have taken our lumps with injuries last few years. We need to remind ourselves that we are the rockets and what that REALLY means.

Remember before we got Charles, we were still hardly on national TV, then amazingly when we got Charles Barkley, we were on TV ALL THE TIME!

Still get goosebumps.....but then reality syncs in and the state of the rockets currently makes me sad. We have waited far too long to have a championship caliber team. I hope morey is able to turn it around somehow.
