Didn't see this posted anywhere. http://www.nba.com/rookie-ladder/#ranking10 Chandler Parsons robbed again! Not even mentioned in the top 10 rookies. What a shame.
Well he was up there at 8 last week, since then he hasn't played that much in that time period. He's averaging what, 6 pts and 5 boards for the week, minus yesterdays game? It was just bad timing.
The rookie ladders guy seems to only look at either pure stats, shooting numbers, or if their team has been on a streak while they were logging heavy minutes. I don't think he really looks at the complete player.
Do you know who kenneth faried is? He is a very good basketball player. IMO better than parsons, but I think he should be somewhere in the top 10.
How is nba.com going to praise gusavo ayon for havin 2 good games in a row, parsons is averaging over 12 points per this month on top of his outstanding defense. Houston gets no love!
yeah faried is a beast, but it's kinda hard to compare him and Chandler's game. I would still go with Parson's though. I think he has a higher ceiling than Faried. Both will have very good careers though.
Yes Kenneth Faried is a monster on the boards and was the reason Nene was expandable but Parsons is just as important to the rockets as Faried is to the Nuggets but I think Parsons has better potential
oops. posted this in another forum (sorry i didn't see this thread). All i have to say is that Drew Packham is a fool if he has Kawhi at #8 before Parsons.
I just tweeted him a link to the Houston Chronicle article with Kobe Bryant's comment about Parsons and told him to look at what Kobe has to say about a guy whom he's been snubbing all season. http://blog.chron.com/ultimaterocke...-wins-his-approval-rockets-show-how-its-done/
Proof that NBA.com's Rookie Ladder guy does not actually watch the rookies play, but goes by stat lines instead. David Thorpe, however, watches games. He knows Parsons value. As a result, he ranked Parsons 4th. He hasn't updated it lately though, I think, but Parsons has been killing it lately and Rubio has gotten injured. I wouldn't be surprised if Parsons was moved up to third.
Seb Pruiti's rankings over on Grantland are even worse for this - Parsons isn't even on the honourable mentions list. Pruiti gets a lot of respect from me for setting up NBA Playbook, but he's got to watch a few more Rockets games, methinks. ST
Pruiti asks: <blockquote class="twitter-tweet"><p>Is it just Rockets fans who think I'm crazy for not having Parsons in my rankings? Or am I crazy?</p>— SebastianPruiti (@SebastianPruiti) <a href="https://twitter.com/SebastianPruiti/status/182650377022341121" data-datetime="2012-03-22T02:10:18+00:00">March 22, 2012</a></blockquote> <script src="//platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script> https://twitter.com/#!/SebastianPruiti/status/182650377022341121
Yeah, I think Rockets fans are starting to get under his skin a bit.... Good for us. He's basing his analysis completely on stats. Why in the world would you place Ayon, Biyombo, and Thomas on this list and not someone whose having a major impact all season long with a team that actually has a winning record???... Obviously he works for ESPN.
