This is released every Thursday. The cut off day is every Tuesday, but they don't release the new graphic till Thursday.

Here is the one for last week. NOTE, this is before our rainy weekend / week.

So Rick Perry's prayers were answered several months later. Maybe he should get into the Presidential race as an independent in September. ;)

It's a testament to how bad it really was. We've had plenty here in central Texas, yet we're still in Severe to Extreme drought. We're still under water restrictions in Round Rock as much of the water has not found its way to Lake Georgetown...our primary source. It's still 50% full and has only risen a few inches since the rain started.

The lakes are still at roughly 40% capacity, we need a big rain even that fills the lakes, one that camps out and dumps for a couple of days.

Travis is still very low at 632.64 feet above sea level, nearly 40 feet below the March average during its history. So yeah, we're still deep in drought, if you're going by arguably the most important of the Central Texas lakes. That is higher by several feet than we saw just a couple of weeks ago. What we need are several more weeks of this, or a couple of days of dangerously high rain amounts. In other words, we need some "gully washers." I've seen Travis go up very quickly in the past after a tropical storm, or some incredible rains, rain storms that stalled in the upper reaches of Travis and Buchanan and just poured and poured. Both lakes have the ability to rise quickly, but folks will often lose their lives when it happens. Maybe we'll get lucky.

So you are exactly right, DD.

like others have said, it will take time to get things better for central and especially west texas.
