Vince Carter to miss two weeks

    December 10, 2002

TORONTO (AP) -- Vince Carter of the Toronto Raptors will miss two weeks with a strained right knee after colliding with a teammate during practice on Tuesday.

Carter missed 10 games earlier this season because of an injured left knee. The latest injury was diagnosed as a mild strain of his patella tendon.

The All-Star guard has averaged 19.2 points in 10 games.

Forward Antonio Davis also didn't make the trip to Cleveland for Wednesday's game because of a swollen right knee. Davis, averaging 13.5 points and 8.3 rebounds, left a game against Chicago on Friday night in the second quarter with the injury and didn't return. He missed Sunday's game against Portland.

The Raptors, who have lost nine of their last 12 games, have been undermanned all season, and are still without Lamond Murray, Eric Montross and Mamadou N'diaye. Lindsey Hunter is expected to return on Wednesday night after missing 11 games with an injured right knee.

This is nuts. He is turning into Grant Hill. It said that he collided with a teammate in practice. Could it have been a fight? I doubt it, but Vince has recently dissed his teammates.

    Raps are cursed

JYD needs elbow surgery, AD might need knee surgery after a knee on knee too, Murray is still out from his surgery, Montross is in his boot along with Mamadou in his. Hakeem retired due to injury, and Hunter and Huffman are just returning from their injuries.

As for VC, he said he was fine and was getting ready to fly to Cleveland, but the team told him to unpack because he injured his right knee. Since its not the knee he had surgery on, they don't want him to put pressure on the left knee by favouring the injury.

Its the Raptors throwing in the towel, and hoping to gain some Rocket-Spur luck this year.

It is pretty safe to say that their season is screwed. Vince is turning into Grant Hill, which is a bad thing. He needs to be in uniform for the Raptors to make the playoffs this year. Hopefully for them they will get a good lottery pick, and Vince will be healthy next year.

Well Grant was the same foot over and over again, had a plate and screws inserted into the ankle. Vince had 1 surgery to remove inflamation and a strain, then banged the other knee in a practice... Slightly different circumstances.

But either way, the Raps season is finished, so might as well let him take all the time needed to recover properly and be healthy next yr with a healthy roster and a high lotto pick.

Didn't these injury problems start right about the time Dream came to the team? Shouldn't have made an offer to him, I tell ya. ;)

Really? I thought it started when T-Mac thought to himself, Screw Canada, and screw Vin-sanity/Air Canada/ Half-Man, Half Amazing. I'm a bigger star than he is.. Boy is educated, I tell you (except for the Canada part).

Raptors went to Game 7 of the Eastern Semis the year after TMac left.

It started when Hakeem came over.

Or you could claim its when Oak left...

Oak kept everyone on their toes, and would call them all out if they weren't in shape and questioned everything.

FYI: I was bored so did some math. Before tonight's game, the Raptors have missed 133 player games due to injury, which is on pace for 545 total.

Last yr the Rockets missed 304 total, and in 20 games, the Raps have had more injuries than the Kings did all of last yr.

    Pretty disgusting
