...ah c'mon. I really wasn't trying to come off as racist. I said I apologize if it sounds stupid. But c'mon SOME areas are like that. There are some ghettos where if a white guy walks down the street he'll have 100X more of a chance of getting mugged than a black guy. I know people don't like to talk about racial tensions but that doesn't mean they don't exist.
Don't worry man. didn't come off as racist. And Kam of all people, didn't take anything personal there.....
I'd move a little further north next time in Spring or The Woodlands...But it's not that bad out there definitely not any worse than other bad parts of town...(south park, 3rd ward, East Houston, etc) Hide your valuables in your car. Get renters insurance. Buy some pepper spray for your girl. If you want to have a night out on the town head north... It will be fine save some $$$ up for your next move...
There are plenty of places on the net to find information on this subject, city-data being one of them.
Lol. I think the same thing when im in conroe and north of there(kkk). Good luck, try not to snoop or stare. Trust me I lived in 4th ward before they gentrified it. A girlfriend I had lived in greenspoint and when I stayed there sometimes I heard gunshots at night and loud music so be ready for that.keep an eye out for your car. Make sure your apartment is locked up good, robbers usually stake out the time your are in and out of the house ...
It's a little chillier there than the rest of the Houston metro area -- I'd caution you to dress any children you might have warmly, in order to prevent ammonia.
I live in all north borough apartments through 8 years. It really depends who your neighbors are. It's heavily populated by crazy mother****ers. They robbed people with groceries out there but if you don't have kids that is my main concern. I got bullied a lot on the school bus. They snook into my moms house and stole all her jewelry in daylight. We think it was her son in law though, a tango blast crackhead.
I lived on Ella and Ranking for a couple months. It was pretty ghetto. Just mind your own business and try to fly under the radar.
Quit scaring him guys. What you need to do is buy an AK-47, go outside in broad daylight and unload 3 or 4 clips in the air while grabbing your groin with the other hand. That'll let THEM know. *Shakes fist*
Seriously just get out of the lease. If you don't have the cash to buy yourself out (which only cost as much as a months rent) just bail on them. 600 bucks is not worth your safety. There are many very safe places in Houston.
The money you are making from Noble or Marathon or one of the other energy companys should enable you to move somewhere else. Do not live in those apartments even for just 6 months, not worth it.
