We have the assets to potentially trade for both if all the stars align in terms of the other GMs liking our youngs, but the trade in the OP is laughably bad and there is no way Orlando accepts that. Here is a much better possibility, though it's still an incredibly long shot, and we would probably have to include the Knicks pick and the rights to Motiejunas as well:
1st thing. The NBA didnt veto us. Get your facts right. The acting owner, David Stern vetoed the Hornets. in reality he saved faced for Hornets. Until the Hornets get a GM, Stern will be there. So any trades going thru the Hornets will go thru him. Any other trades just need to get approved for salary purposes. Giving a superstar for 2 old players, no legit asset, who da fook would do that. Lmao, probably you Op.
Seriously?!?? Seeing people propose such unrealistic trade possibilities can be so annoying sometimes.
In this scenario, Houstons pick and NJs pick would also go to Orlando via NJ. Lowry / Dragic / Flynn / (Llull) Martin / Lee / Williams Parsons / Bud / Turk Lopez / Patterson / (D-Mo) Dalembert / Hill / Thabeet In the offseason, we could let Dalembert, Dragic, Williams, Flynn and Hill walk. Re-up Lopez, bring over Llull/D-Mo and go after Gerald Wallace in free agency. Lowry / Llull Martin / Lee / Bud Wallace / Parsons / Turk Montejounas / Patterson Lopez / (draft)
Blockbuster Deal. Iām pretty sure all the salaries work. HOU receives - Danny Granger, Pau Gasol, & Steve Blake LAL receives ā Chris Kaman, Luis Scola, & Goran Dragic IND receives ā Kevin Martin & Chandler Parsons NO receives ā Hasheem Thabeet, Jordan Hill, & 1st round pick via LAL
No I don't want Turk, but I do want Lopez. Capspace seems worthless for us, because any good player is traded here, not signed in the offseason.
It seems like an awful lot to give up for just Lopez. I don't think I'd give up that much just for a solid center... I would want a star-level player I think
Let's see, picks, Turkoglu bad contract, Aren't you paying too much for Lopez? I dunno what he brings to the table, he's like an unathletic and even softer version of Pau Gasol. That dude was the leading man when the Nets became the 2nd worst team in history. D-Mo would be an upgrade over him the minute he steps into the court. Hell PP is probably better than him right now.
Scola, Morris and taking back a bad contract is fair value for Lopez in my opinion. The pick going to Orl is the one we have already conveyed to NJ, so that is NJs loss, not ours. What he did in NJ is irrelevant. Dwill is the leading guy there now and they are terrible, doesn't mean Dwill is a bad player. Lopez is a great player whose value is low right now. We have no idea what we have in D-Mo, so saying he would already be better than Lopez the moment he steps on the court is just silly.
Well, and on that note, if Howard can be had for just that, why not just rent him ourselves and take our chances?
