Have you read much on Super String theory? Twenty six dimensions folded in on itself enabling everything from protons to galactic clusters to exist. Thats a mystery right there, how the helk does someone think that up then fit or invent mathematics to prove its existance?

Here's the one that always gets my ears smoking:

The universe. I simply cannot grasp the concept of something physical that goes on and on and on forever. Something that if we could travel a billion times the speed of light, we'd never really be closer to the edge if we travelled a billion years. Because their is no edge.

It goes on and on forever. Without end.

And what if there is an end? What's on the other side of it? That thought is even more disconcerting.

    Please make it stop.

That really bugs me out too ...and another thing along the same lines ... the continuity of time.

Our belief is that God has been around forever and will be around forever, so the 'has been around forever' part I can deal with, because it's already in the past, but the 'will be around forever' part freaks me out. Like, what is forever ... it neeeeeeeeever ends, how long ... or does that even matter?!

Thinking of these two things always gives me chills.

This reminds me of the part in Dogma about God's voice. We can't understand it in our human form. I think the universe is kinda the same thing, we can't understand it...

    http://www.castleofspirits.com/unexplained.html

Here is a link to good site out of Australia. It has a lot of storys about the unexplained including some of the one metioned here: Bermuda Triangle, The Curse of the Mummy - The Sinking of the Titanic, (that one I like) Haunted Ebay Painting (that is my favorite. It scares me), Spontaneous Human Combustion and many more. Even has some of the hoaxes like Amityville Horror and Fire in the Sky. It's a fun site to read. so check it out if you have some time.

as i understand it, the dimensions of the ark in this find are dead on with those that God gave Noah in Genesis.

But this is a little like the surface of the Earth, okay. You could get in a boat or a plane and go 'round and 'round the Earth scratching your head, saying "I keep going in a straight line, but the Earth doesn't seem to end!" The universe is (supposedly) like that. Instead of two-dimensions (surface of Earth), you've got three (okay, four with time), but the basic reasoning is the same.

So I don't think current cosmologists think it's infinite, per se. If you did what you proposed there, going really fast for a long time, you'd start to see familiar galaxies and what-not. Okay, that being said, all the cosmologists think the universe is expanding at an ever greater rate.

Okay, please carry on with the "morning wood" discussion. Much bigger mystery ... in my case. :)
