I rather him look for his shot a little more especially in the 2nd unit but I guess he can't ever be right on here. It's just too funny... When he's more aggressive people say he is ball hogging. When he's kicking the ball around and looking for teammates he is too passive. The hate for this guy is ongoing. Too many Rick Adelman wannabes on this board critiquing every single thing he does. Even if he put up a triple double they'll aways be something negative. Either way, hate him or love him, he has a chance to be a great player. Like the GM said, he has the most upside of anyone on the team and can be an ELITE defender in this league. Much like at Tony Allen or Iggy.
Terrence Williams did a solid job last night. Played solid D, and made excellent decisions on the swing. His opportunities to score will be there, but the nature of the game required a certain calm and decision making last night, which he brought. That is the best way to manage a lead. Analyzing anything more than that is absurd, especially in a game that was a blowout by halftime. Budinger did a decent job too.
My biggest issue with TWill is that he can't dribble. He has no handles and thus can't create off the dribble. Great passer and a good shooter. He needs to improve this aspect of his game if he wants to be a starter.
Ya....but I want him to score more than 2 points still. 0 assists.............at least go the hole more How's he supposed to shut down Gay?!
Twill seemed much better in Game 2 than in Game 1. In Game 1 he always brought the ball up court and ignored the nominal PG. Game 2, he appeared to be a little more in the flow. We should be glad we got this guy for a non-lottery draft pick. He gives McHale options on the floor and Morey options on the phone.
His jumper has improved, and I like his facilitating skills, but I think he needs to be a little more selfish like that one play in the fourth when he drove in and got up and passed it out of bounds instead of going for the floater.
In my humble opinion, Id rather have Twill out there than Bud. Yes, I watched both games. While Twill can be rightly accused of being over zealous, id rather have a guy over pumped out there than a guy (Bud) who looks like he is playing not to make a bad play rather than trying to make a good one. All that fire and intensity can be huge plus rather than a inconsistent minus if he can translate that energy to a focal point through some discipline and confidence. But at least he has the fire to begin with.
