Jordan last played in 93.....why are his shoes relevant anymore? I don't understand the facisnation with his brand.....please...explain......

BTW - Did anyone watch the live news report with the ignorant young lady talking about how it's sad how people are outside in the cold in lines with their babies that may catch ammonia....not pneumonia...but ammonia!

It's like people buying Rolex, Gucci, and other expensive brands. It's about a show of wealth..... I guess.

Why are we still fascinated with championships from 15 years ago?

He was great. They were great....i don't expect all bball fans to collect or want his shoes, but how can you not understand a fascination with Michael Jordan, even several years after retirement?

And again, these are some of the most popular sneakers EVER. I think they would be up there, even if they were just regular Nikes. Their design itself appealed to a lot of people, not just the name on it. The name just made it even better. Plus, they are from the 72-10 year, which sent the popularity through the roof.

yea his charisma, perfection on the court really made basketball a joy to watch and took it to heights around the world to new heights. On the court he was like a god, he had bad moments and struggled like any player as we haved a tendency to glorify once they are gone, but there were times, his precision, know how, presence on the court was unlike anything I have ever seen. As far as his shoes, they are cool, but nothing special to me, it is a product and it does make the product a bit more appealing to have MJ on them. The only ones I would spend money on is the Jordan XI in many fo the colors. I wouldnt' even by them, but if i did pay up it would be for those

holy crap - can't believe how many people are bent out of shape over someone wanting a cool pair of shoes designed by the greatest basketball player of all time. Most of the people complaining in this thread are probably broke & really want a pair but can't pull it.

I find that highly doubtful I'd guess they are the older crowd and would rather spend that $ elsewhere.

it's really less about the shoes and more about the stampede of animals trampling each other, not to mention getting robbed at gunpoint for them.

I'm sure that 80% of the people in this thread and on this board blow $$ on something that's completely unnecessary. I have a framed signed Dream jersey, for example.

Its not to say you're not right in some regards. Its that no one CARES

From appearing on Jerry Springer, to acting like rampaging barbarians after a college football victory, to firing guns in the air on New Year's Eve, to putting children in beauty contest, to chaining dogs to a tree, and a million other things I don't have time to list, it sure does seem like America specializes in rotten behavior and general stupidity.

If you're buying air jordans, might as well get the 20 inch rims with spinners, grillz, and baggy pants to complete the look...
