The misuse that drives me crazy is saying or writing 'weary' instead of 'wary'. It sometimes seems like I'm the only person in the world that knows the difference.

    archeopteryx instead of archaeopteryx

(the hilarious thing is, the spell-check on Clutchfans flags the second one as incorrect, but thinks the first one is ok)

Lay, lie, laid, etc... Also people don't know the difference between boozers and goozers.

I still get tripped up on lay, lie, laid, lain sometimes.

To, too, and two drive me crazy when people get them wrong.

Who, whose, and who's is a trickier one, but I notice when it's spelled incorrectly.

I hate how much people misuse to vs. too.

Here's a trick I taught my kids: if you're not sure which to use replace the word with "ta." and see if it still sounds correct.

For example "I have ta go ta the bathroom" still sounds ok.

"I have ta many apples" doesn't.

It's more of a grammar mistake but should of, could of, would of, needs to die.

Could of, is acceptable in my book. It's really just an onomonopia version of the correct grammatical term "could have."

It's like the Irish 'Tis, which is replicates the accent of the Irish people in print.

I wonder [what (no Lil Pun intended) book you have. Not the English Grammar Usage one, that's for sure, sir. You could have purchased the correct one.

Phonetically, it's ok. But in writing it out, no.

What you really mean is 'could've' .

People should be more wary when typing in your presence, but personally, I'd grow weary of it quickly.

I'd be happy if everybody just spelled the players' names right. And sports radio is annoying too; there's always a caller that still calls Arian Foster "Adrian" instead.
