He is right. With Pau we would've been a 50 win team and with Nene to add to it, we would've been a top seed in the playoffs. And people hated the 1st offer we had...

I still hope we at least sign Nene this offseason.

I disagree. I think Scola + Martin + Lowry = better chance to win 50 than Pau Gasol + Lowry. More offensive options. Rockets dont need center in Pau, there are others that can do equal job on body, rebound and defense, which Rockets need, than giving up away so many offensive choices. Now if it was Howard, I would have done this deal in a heartbeat. Marc Gasol? maybe but without giving up both n round picks.

Didn't he say Miami was gonna win 70 games last season? I guess Mike Miller isn't who he thought he was.

Defense wins games, and leave it to JVG to say this team is gonna win 50/66 games by trading the two weakest defenders in the starting 5 for a quality defender/all-star. That's equivalent to 62 games in an 82 game season.

I remember when he left and Adelman came in, a lot of people thought that he was forced out. Whether that's true or not, he always said good things about the Rockets as a TNT analyst, even went as far as saying Adelman's team played better defense than his team with improved offense and that T-Mac was his MVP that year.

The team we were trying to put together with Pau along with the addition of someone like Nene is right up JVG's alley, focusing on owning the paint on both ends of the floor. Not just his appreciation for that specific blue print, but he loves Houston. It makes me proud whenever I watch a game Van Gundy is calling and he randomly throws out a Texans shout out usually which are directive as some love for Schaub

Yes, JVG is the go to person, for an impartial opinion on Stern.

JVG, as much as I hated his type of basketball, is awesome.

LOVE me some JVG. no homo.

Just b/c we'll probably never bring him up again, I have a quick/funny story on him.

After his coaching stint came to an end here he went to commentate for ESPN, though I don't remember if he still did last year? But getting back to the point, he was commentating a game of ours and the play-by-play goes "and (whoever the opposing center was) lost Yao, as Yao goes up for the easy dunk." Well, there was a brief bit of silence. Then Jeff goes, "HOW DO YOU LOSE A SEVEN FOOT SIX CHINESE MAN?!", in the trademark high-pitched Van Gundy voice.

I'm not sure if it was because of his blatant political incorrectness or my JVG homerism, but it sure had be rolling.

    Here's to Jeff.

He will pay for this. Ster will never allow him to work in this league again!
