ESPNSteinLine Marc Stein Every team in the league just received notification that Clippers have registered winning waiver bid for Chauncey Billups
smh. so what. he is still a great pg. can play solid D. better than mo williams imo. will bring great experience to the team, can shoot well. Great pickup. better than gutting half your future roster for 1 player. Billups, gordon, Butler, Griffin Sick.
Billups salary being what it is below to me means they just told Stern screw you 2009/10: $12.1 million, 2010/11: $13.15 million, 2011/12: $14.2 million (Team Option)
whats the deal with the bidding system? is there a minimum bid? like.. why didnt a team bid $1 for gilbert arenas? i dont see how anyone can not get claimed with this method unless there was a minimum bid requirement in place
WojYahooNBA Adrian Wojnarowski Billups is terrific fit for Clippers. Amnesty rules don't allow him to be traded until after season. Clippers claimed Big Shot to play him.
Haha. I'm sure Chauncey would rather play for one of those contenders, but playing in LA with that talented young core they have actually isn't that bad. Hopefully he sees it that way and quits being a whiny b****.
I agree. He makes them better. And it does seem like this means the pursuit of CP3 should be over. Anyone know if/where they'll publish what the winning bid was?
KBergCBS Ken Berger Team execs intrigued, to say the least, about Clips claiming Chauncey Billups. Does it help or hurt CP3 trade? KBergCBS Ken Berger On one hand, could signal Clips are, in fact, moving on. But one exec pointed out that Billups "could be another player to trade."
no wonder us regular fans are so confused with all the new rules. which is it, he can or can't be traded? Maybe Berger is saying it's another player for the Clips, which allow them to trade more players...
