They're holding oj in hopes of pulling a trade with the pacers, for mcroberts and brandon rush http://www.hoopsworld.com/indiana-pacers-trade-oj-mayo/
He's about to go to the Pacers for McRoberts & Rush. https://twitter.com/#!/AlexKennedyNBA/status/146267151697846272
Courtney Lee is at the very worst Mayo's equal. Hell, Lee is probably a little better. Regardless, it seems Mayo is getting dealt to Indiana.
OJ can be a lot better than Lee will ever be. Lee has reached his potential, OJ still has potential left.
People underrate the crap out of OJ simply because they have no idea what he's had to deal with under Hollins. He was on his way to stardom until Hollins came in, tried to fit him into a role he was not suited for, reduced his touches, then eventually benched him. Don't get me wrong, Hollins has done a great job with Memphis, but he did Mayo wrong (and never gave him a fair chance). This guy burst into the league as a rookie averaging over 21 ppg before Hollins was hired. I think he'd be great here, and we even have some guys to offer Memphis (they're very close to dealing him for scrubs).
I've been a huge Courtney Lee fan since he came here and think that he's deserving of being a starter that contributes on both ends. But the thought of having an all-star type player in OJ Mayo would be great. Both are restricted free agents next year due to get paid. Wondering which would be a better fit moving forward Lee or Mayo?
