Gee, only if Yao's teammates made more of those passes, I am right on the money.

Yes, from what I've seen...the guy can dunk and run the floor.

Houston will love him once he gets in shape.

Sorry to say this but I think the rockets definitely played better without Cuttino. There was definitely more distribution throughout the team and alot of the points were spread out. Francis played pretty solid, he didn't jack up shots and the team stayed in focus. Ming was solid, I'd hate to see him in 2 years.

BICKERSTAFF : Too much Yao Ming

In the Washington post=game show Bernie begins with, TOO MUCH YAO MING....Says Houston zone stopped Wizards.. and half time adjustments stopped Stackhouse shooting from the corners... Called it the Communist Block Zone (joke). Compared Rockets to up and coming Laker type team.

Commentary went on to talk about how wrong many people were about Yao,,,confirmed he was the right #1 choice.

Impressed with Hawkins' 14/8/5. Although, he makes Eddie Griffin look as emotional as Danny Ainge.

Thanks zzhiggins. I always enjoy hearing about reactions from non-local media outlets. Kinda gives us a feel for what everyone else's perspective is.

That's why I like listening to the opposing announcers. They love our players.

The stats you quote were from after the Dallas game. Ming's shooting percentage will fall a bit after that more pedestrian 64% tonight...

Even so, Ming should be on pace for the second highest shooting percentage in NBA history.

And his efficiency rating/48 will rise. His game ER/48 is:

    (18+8+2+1+4-(11-7)-(4-4)-1)/(32/48) = 42.0

40 is up there in All Star land...

    Points Scored per Attempt =

    18/(11 + 0.44*4) = 1.41
