Facebook does the same. Google doesn't realize its their service innovations (like Google Maps) that has kept Google popular... not UI innovations. Facebook does the same thing every few days and usually everyone hates the new changes.
don't even use the google page to search anymore. Since I'm running chrome I just type my search in the URL.
This isn't just a change for Google.com This is across all services, Plus, Maps, Gmail, Docs, etc. but yes, I do search from the address bar as well
Still on the old page. I'll check it out when they force me to switch. And the most recent changes to facebook were terrible. At least they brought back sort by "recent stories first" instead of that "highlighed stories first" BS.
"NoOOOooOOoOOoooooo!!!! PLEASE DON'T TELL ME THINGS HAVE CHANGED!?!?!?!?! I CANNOT GET USED TO ANYTHING 'NEW' OR CHANGES!!!!! NoooooOO!!!O!O!O!O!O!!O!O!!O!O!!OOHOHOH!O!H!!!!H!NOES!!!!"
I love chrome, but the only feature that I miss is the drop down box from the url box. I am so dependent on that and hate typing in every website I go to. Do anyone have a work around that feature.
They must have their reasons for the change. Spoiler But it'll take a while for me to dislike it less. To me, it looks old and like something from 20-30 year ago. And the rest of their verbose explanation is so annoying it feels like a BS. Spoiler
They beta test and use analytics to drive all the design changes. They definitely know what they're doing.
