you know you're doing something right when alums from other schools are actively trying to jack the thread with irrelevant nonsense. Ignore the riffraff. Since this is a road game, I have some definite concerns. Another blowout would be nice.
That's odd, I thought for sure Furlong was a UH supporter. Your comment seems to be insulting the education one gets at UH as it has either failed you, or.....actually there isn't an alternative.
I'm not going to miss playing UAB. A root canal is more exiciting than the other Bama team. Coogs by 56.5
Wow, Longhorn and Aggie fans really got their panties in a bunch over OP's comment. Funny. Here's something more straightforward and easier to comprehend: we have the best college football team in Texas. It's been a long time coming, so don't be offended if we bask in the glory a little bit. Eat 'em up!
What a double standard by Shorthorns and Faggies. When they are rank it's gospel when any other TX school is rank it's flaw in the system. They both sip from the same bottle!
Maybe you Coogs should take a closer look at the stats of each team. Evaluate each team by passing and rushing yards on offense and defense. Also take a look at who each has played. Here's a good website to do that: http://www.adjustedstats.com/ratings-stats/ There is more to evaluating a team's performance than their win/loss records.
I'm still unsure of what to make of the defense- they had a few terrible plays against Rice (long runs for TDs), were serviceable against UCLA and looked terrible against UTEP. However, they were at their best against ECU. Opponents are averaging 33 points per game on the road as opposed to 19.8 when UH is at home. I think the defense is improved from years past, but it still needs to get better. On the plus side, UAB's defense isn't that great either.
UAB is flat out terrible. This is a program that is literally on the chopping block. As bad as we are on the road (in particular, in Alabama), I'm expecting a 5 TD+ win barring some kind of crazy sleet storm or something.
This is an internet argument. I have to win. Nope. If it was reveresed and UT was ranked #13 by the BCS with these stats: #1 Pass offense (1) #56 Rush offense (81) #70 Pass defense (95) #103 Rush defense (114) with an SOS of 106 (giving adjusted stats in parentheses above) whereas UH would be ranked #21 by BCS #88 Pass offense (76) #15 Rush offense (25) #18 Pass defense (7) #15 Rush defense (6) with an SOS of 14 I'd bet on UH every time even though I'd be pulling for UT. If you had a million dollars to bet on either team based entirely on stats, regardless of which team is UH or UT, who would you bet on?
I hate to do this but I keep looking towards the Tulsa game...and I'm having trouble sleeping. If we can beat Tulsa on the road, I am confident we take care of business in the championship game. Until then, Nov. 25 looms large...
Based on what I've seen this year, I'm predicting a Tulsa win. But, like you, I feel that if we beat them, we'll steamroll our way through the post-season.
