    Hey,

I know the best way to learn Spanish is through immersion, but I don't have the opportunity to do that at the moment. What I do have, however, is a 1 hour commute to work every day. I was wondering if anyone has tried or heard about the success of any Spanish audio learning CDs that can be listened to in the car. (I already have a background in Spanish from high school but that was over 10 years ago and I've forgotten most of it).

As far as language audio tapes go,
I have heard of Pimsleur, which is the most popular brand I think.
But has anyone tried or heard of "Learning Spanish Like Crazy" ?

Anyone have other suggestions for audio learning? Price isn't an issue.

Don't think it's very effective to listen to tape alone. I never studied Spanish, but tried audio with another language and it was only good for "common" phrases. Couldn't pick up grammar, vocabulary or anything else. IMO to study foreign languages you absolutely MUST take a class if you otherwise don't have the language environment to immerse yourself into.

    Hey random thread bump.

The other day at work I was speaking with a kitchen manager in Spanish and realized I have forgotten a crap ton over the past year.

Any recommendations on podcasts or iTunes U courses to help refresh la mente?

Also what are some good shows.

I have my old course books and a few novels in Spanish I can use to brush up on they vocab, but the real issue is verbal.

    Grassy ass!

I second the motion to listen to the Spanish radio and TV stations.

 You need to practice it too with peeps who really know how to speak it. Don't go to Taco Bell, for sure.

    Day-knot-ah.

How I learned the basics, before working on it in college, was from dating a girl that spoke Spanish. I need to follow that model again.

I couldn't focus on learning by audio while driving.

TV shows are the way to go. Last night I watched some show with some girls with huge jugs dancing around in bikinis, a midget Elvis, Tejano bands and a karaoke contest.

It's not learning as much as working on my comprehension of Spanish when it's spoken. I can read it fairly well, I just have problems recalling vocabulary when it's spoken.

I've never used it myself, but I know people who have, and they swear by Rosetta Stone.
