Was watching this on youtube.... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WFlagalGq5M&feature=related Closing Game 5 of First round series against Clippers Hakeem: 31 points, 21 rebounds, 7 Blocked shots, 5+ assists He was a machine on the offensive boards.
Is this the game where the Rockets blew a 20+ point 2nd half lead before Hakeem went Superman to save the day? He played completely out of his mind. After the Clippers came back, I kept thinking this was going to be the most crushing loss in Rockets history. Hakeem saved the Rockets from an epic choke. They probably would have blown up the team and not won the championship next season if the Clips had won.
... this is much better.. from a different perspective.. <iframe width="420" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/PaYTyqWtFw8" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
That was a great game by Dream. Vernon hit the biggest shot of the game to seal the win but that series gave me a scare. We swept them in the season but they played really well in that series and even led parts of game 5. Mad Max broken his hand late in the season, though so he wasn't quite healthy in that series. I think he missed the first four games. Crowd went crazy at the end. That was the dawn of the new era.
The only thing that made me feel better after thinking about that game was that Dallas never won a title but now.......
looks to me that our defensive juggernauts in david wesley, mike james, and jon barry couldnt stop mavs' perimeter players. added the fact that dallas always pulled yao out of the paint and he was too slow to recover, letting dallas guards get to the hoop at will. how we made it to game 7, i dont know
lol @ kenny smith taunting the LA crowd after the win (20:26) and carl herrera yelling at jaren jackson in the tunnel (20:29) back then, you didn't see the handshakes and better-luck-next-times at the end of every series, plus, winners and losers walked through the same tunnel, shoulder to shoulder. awesome.
