    Tmac > Kobe?

    I don't think so. (ever)

Hakeem > everybody in 94 regular season

    Yup. MVP.

Absolutely. MVP isn't defined in set terms, it is just an honor recognizing one for the amazing contributions.

But I understand people's complaints...the biggest one is why didn't Jordan win it every year. Clearly he deserve more MVPs...and he didn't win because people got bored of voting for him.

So is the award a farce? No. But does the MVP = best player that year. No way.

You quote a line that in no way mentions Hakeem and your title says that there are "some people" who think his win was a farce. I fail to see any evidence that anybody has questioned Hakeem's MVP win.

when you think the entire MVP award is a farce, then that applies to all that won that award.

If you say things like the MVP when Kobe won it was a farce, or the MVP, nowadays is a farce, then that's completely different from

    the MVP is a farce

Are you the type of person who says a stopped clock is not broken because it's still correct twice a day?

Aren't you guys discussing T-Mac vs Kobe? So wouldn't context be implied here? Or does every broad statement written on an internet message board must be crystal clear so that it might not be misconstrued as some blasphemy against the 94-95 championship teams?

No, but a great man once said "We had non believers along the way, I have one thing to say to those non believers.."

and another great man said, "As you know basketball is a team sport, I like extend my gratitude to my teammates for their contributions.. and my coaches"

and another great man said, " two years, two rings, and we might go for another one!"

It means you are the best player who carried your team to one of the best records in the league for that regular season.. as voted by the league.

No problems with Derrick Rose winning last year. Pretty spectacular season.

"Some people believe the second best player during Hakeem's tenure is as good as Pat Garrity".

Hakeem won the MVP in 1993-94 season.

Don't know what this has to do with

"Some people believe that Hakeem's MVP was a 'farce'"

Dudes who could have helped Dream win an MVP in the 80s if they didn't go Michael Ray Richardson on the Rockets.

I got past the Tracy McGrady rating, 1 star. It's at least in the 2nd round, Yao rating!

    Dream is forever.

Yeah, I'm not sure tinman understand the concept of contradictory ideas.

On one hand he believes that Kenny Smith, Vernon Maxwell, Robert Horry, Otis Thorpe, Mario Elie, Zan Tabak, Charles Jones, etc. are all legends of Rockets history whom the likes of T-Mac or Yao can't even touch.

On the other hand he believes Hakeem to be the greatest player in history because he won a ring with no 2nd star.

If he ever thought for a moment about this, his head would probably explode.
