The sad thing is most people that are responding are personally biased based on what happened at the end of Tracy's tenure in Houston.

For some reason the good times are out the window when thinking on the McGrady + Yao years.

It is obvious simply mentioning Tracy brings out some of the worst bias I have seen that even outweighs what I have seen towards Pippen.

If we could get 72 Games, 8PPG 3.5 APG and 3.5 RPG while shooting 44% from the floor in 23 MPG for the veterans minimum I would take it.

But as it stands with the lockout and with a year off all this may be very well be mute.

Clutchfans... where fandom turns to hate in the blink of an eye.

    No.

You weren't here on clutchfans for Pippen, us 99ers were.

don't confuse TOF fantasies for what true Rockets fans felt.

I can not believe nearly half of the people voted yes.

The last thing this team needs is an over-the-hill former superstar who did not exactly leave on good terms with the organization.

any minutes he played would be taken from a player who actually figures into our plans for the future. for this reason alone, no.

    This is crazy.

We're a rebuilding team. We don't need any old dudes.

All I can say is that, at least Tracy McGrady tried...
You can say all you want but, if you think for one moment he didn't want to get it out of the first round, he didn't want a ring, and he didn't want to become a legend then you must be out of your mind.
I'm pretty sure most players that get drafted want to become something more than a role player on the bench. So please enough about the "T-Slack didn't try."

Sorry, I care about the Rockets winning, not individual stats.

I can't tell you what Hakeem averaged in all his years, but I can tell you the championships and pride that he brought to the city of Houston and why he has a statue.

There will be no statue of Tracy McGrady in Houston or Orlando or Toronto or New York or Detroit etc

Maybe the Tracy Fans can pool all their money and make him a lego statue

You can dispute "T-Slack didn't try" all you want.

What I'm more interested in is someone disputing "Stacy McLady quit."

    Proven fact, proven loser.

    Do not want.

Couldn't even leave the team on good terms. Said "It's on me", then pointed fingers at everybody else when that failed.

If basketball is a team sport, then say, "Our team can win."

But if you're just worried about being compared to Jordan and Kobe, don't worry, you're nowhere close to either.

If Tracy could've learned to shut his mouth and try, he might have been great.

As it is, he's a former scoring champ and a broken-down loser.

Let him stay wherever he is, as long as it's not Houston.

Hakeem played with the Rockets for 17 years and won 2 NBA championships during that time, while McGrady was only with the Rockets for 5 seasons.

    PG - Smith
    SG - Ellie
    SF - McGrady
    PF - Horry
    C - Thorpe

    6th Man - Cassel

Not only that, but the second and third string players beat out most of the starters T-Mac had when he still had his legs.

    Herrera > Battier
    Bullard > Juwan Howard
    Scott Brooks > David Wesley
    Cureton > Hayes

    And of course:
    Drexler > Yao

Not a member then no. Then I believe there was a cost to join. But I did lurk to be sure. Just to see what was being said.

Sorry couldn't see paying to have the privilege of being a "99er".

I would like to see Tracy win one time in the first round.

(Interesting to see BEAT LA comparing Dream and Tracy, like they are in the same universe)

*Aaron Brooks, Kyle Lowry, Von Wafer, Shane Battier, Ron Artest, Carl Landry, Chuck Hayes, Dikembe Mutombo, Yao Ming, Luis Scola

I wonder what Dream would have done with that bunch...
