And yet you named a PF in your list of centers lol. Even against a corpse of shaq, Bogut, and Marc Gasol (it's sad that he gets named as a top center), Howard never managed to average more than 23 ppg in a season. If you are going to be against mostly PF and really crappy centers, You have to be putting up monster numbers and have the offense ran through you. The top 10 number he puts up are on the defensive end. When Kendrick Perkins can single cover you in the playoffs, you know you aren't a all time great.
He certainly has the body to be top 10, Dwight just doesn't have that killer mentality. I don't remember one instance where he made a clutch play to seal the deal for his team. In fact, look at his stats with 5 minutes left in 4th quarter or overtime during a close game: Win %: 33% Pts / 48 min. : 9.1 Blocks: 0 Unless he decides that winning is a bigger priority than smiling for the cameras, I don't think he's top 10 material.
I think catching up to David Robinson will be tough for Dwight. Ewing he can reach though. They are quite similar so far in terms of career. Both have a lot of turnovers. Dwight is slightly better defensively but Ewing had a slightly better offensive game
Dwight is already top ten all time just based on his personality alone. We haven't seen charisma like this since shaq in his prime.
When people come to sit down and ask "whose the best", he might be on the edge of the top 10, when people in the distant future haven't got much but their career accomplishments, he'll probably be top 3 or so
LOL you act like KP is a piece of trash, I'm pretty sure Perkins is capable of single covering a lot of the all time greats, especially now that contact isn't allowed. Perks isn't that quick but he's 6'10, highly immovable and extremely smart defensively, anyone except guys like Abdul Jabbar would have a tough time wrestling with him in the post. DH never averaged more than 23 ppg, but he also had some 20 pt, 20 reb games. A center isn't supposed to score 60 points a game, he's supposed to grab rebounds and become the core of the defense. DH is still 25, when Dream came into the league he was already 23 years old. I'm pretty sure when DH finally retires 12 years from now he'll be one of the all time league leaders in rebs and blocks.

At 25 Dream was averaging 25 and 14 and 3.5 blocks and had already been to the NBA Finals. Howard is fine, but he has the benefit of an era where the Center position is weak. He is 'only' 25 though, but he'd have to have a dramatic improvement to be considered among the best ever.
Dwight Howard would need at least 8-10 seasons of what he did last year + playoff success in order to be in the top 10. So it's not a guarantee. People have to understand, before this past year, Howard's offense was pathetic. He has a huge advantage right now with the pathetic centers that are playing today. Therefore, if he doesn't dominate offensively, it's beyond pathetic.
