poor american fellows, i am a chinese, i can understand chinese, this is a very nice retirement speech by yao. Sorry that you missed the nice part of Chinese. God Damn the translator, although i actually didn't know what was the translation. Yao, you are more of just a basket ball player, boss, proud of China, thank you for all the fascinating performance in your nine year's NBA Career, thank you for being teammante of T_Mac, best wishes for you, Amy, Your family and your team, your future.
Well, it's officially over. I'm actually pretty damn relieved. Ready for the team to build up it's new future. Now, to do something with all these "assets" Morey has. DM has chubbed up big time.
Aside from that flub, I thought the NBA TV guy did really well. I imagine it's not easy to fill all the empty air time during something like this, especially when the translator is horrendous and you're flying solo on the set.
the Press Conference is still going on on Ch. 55-6 locally in Houston is having Q/A and COLIN PINE SIGHTING!!!!!
Agreed for such an awkward situation I thought the host did all he could to liven up the "thing." Beautiful venue, great to see Yao's full family with him but just about as bad as it gets from a translating point of view. The translator was just awful, I think he said "Houston Rocks" instead of Rockets at one point.
Yeah- I just flipped channels and saw this on 55-6 too. Why's Colin there? Did Yao's English regress as he sat out games? JK! Pretty cool to have Colin there - seems fitting fling full circle like that.
