Yes, the rules will change but $ for $ more than likely will not...

    Rockets:
    In ~ E. Okafor, (P. Ewing Jr. - filler)
    Out~ L. Scola, T. Williams, G. Dragic

We need a center and will have to over pay for one. Not really a 2way player but hay he as good as it gets.

    Hornets
-D. West is about to walk (sold his house) & C. Landry is not signed
    -Scola; C. Paul will too;-Dragic

Imo Bird has said they would be asking a lot for Granger and Scola being the center piece would not be enough. I don't think we have the players to get a player like Granger.

Yeah I know. The best we could probably do is add Hill/Bud and future picks.

Unless we trade both Martin and Scola for Granger and Posey.

We would lose big time with a trade like that.

High upside is superstar potential and the Rocket shave no one like that. Not Donuts, not Morris, not 2Pat.

Martin and Scola for Childress and Warrick

Warrick has a team option for 2012.

2012 in both the draft and free agency should be the Rockets priority.

    Lowry, Flynn
    Lee, Dragic
    Childress, Budinger
    Morris, 2Pat
    Hill, Donuts, Thabeet

Lets assume by some small miracle that we land Marc Gasol this offseason. We would likely have to let Hayes go, and maybe dump Twill to free up salary.

We could call up New Jersey at the deadline and offer:

    http://espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=68xcros

+ protection removed on thier pick and maybe the 2012 NY Pick added

    Dwill / Dragic
    Martin / Lee
    Morris / Budinger / Parsons / Outlaw
    Scola / Montejounas
    Gasol / Hill

    Gasol-Scola would suck defensively though.

I might do it if there's an amnesty clause we'd be able to use on Outlaw. Otherwise I'd pass.
Outlaw is terrible. I also don't think Williams is all that (reatively speaking) and while I don't care much for Thabeet and Flynn, I'd be very hesistant to give up Patterson in any deal. Not because he's a All-Star in the making or anything, but rather because I prefer him over Scola, especially next to a guy like Gasol. I'd also hate to trade Lowry, though you'd certainly have to pull the trigger if the right deal comes along. :(

That deal is terrible but that roster would be contender status without the trade.

No it certainly wouldnt be a contender w/o the trade and the deal is not terrible. Trading two role players and taking back a bad contract for a superstar is never a bad deal.

    Yes it would.

You aren't trading two role players for a superstar.

We have some many mix and match pieces/players...
We need a center in the worst way ( is this news to anyone? )

The ONLY way it get a 5 is to over pay...

    Rockets:
    In ~ E. Okafor, (P. Ewing Jr. - filler)
    Out~ L. Scola, T. Williams, G. Dragic

Hornets ( to make a trade the other team needs the players we can live with out )
-D. West is about to walk (sold his house NO) & C. Landry is not signed looking at going overseas - lock out -Scola could help them out in a big way
-C. Paul will walk next year, too;-Dragic could be a nice band-aid for them till real help comes.
-Twill is a wildcard just to make them say, YES ( he may blow-up in NO with CP3 )... that is OK IMO - I'm not a fan of Twill.

    Houston's new line up:
    Okafor / Hill
    Patterson / Hill / Morris
    Lee / Budinger / Morris
    Martin / Lee / Flynn
    Lowry / Flynn

    So young so young

    Looks pretty balanced, too

My fear is Lee will walk after this season ( if there is one ) and he will be a BIG loss to us IMO. Let him start and work out a deal to retain him even if cost a little more then we are willing to pay.

    Thoughts?

Our starters? They more than held their own last season. What, do you expect them to get worse?

    What are you talking about?

No I don't expect them to get worse, but they are still role players.

Patterson will almost definately be better, Lowry who knows.
